    This was just what I needed! Clear explanation, list of needed tools, and some great tips made it clear to me that I can do this job myself. Liked and subscribed, Sir. Keep up the good work!

    Very detailed video and oiffers great instruction BUT where's the rest of it? This is the removal of the CV but not the replacement....

    • @BIGWILLSCARCARE
      @BIGWILLSCARCARE  3 місяці тому

      The replacement is the exact opposite of removal so to save time I didn't include the installation. Thanks for watching please Like, Share and Subscribe if you haven't already

    I just replaced the axles on a 2010 Outback and now have a front shimmy when turning. I used new axles. Should have used new axles from Subaru instead of NAPA.

    • @BIGWILLSCARCARE
      @BIGWILLSCARCARE  Рік тому +1

      @Wes Hawkins some axles are balanced that could be the problem or you may need some other front end work, bushings, ball joint, tie rod, you can also try and rotate your tires in case a rim is bent. Thanks for watching please Like, Share and Subscribe if you haven't already

    was there a retainer at the transmission side ? 03 Forester and I need to see how it goes back together and stays together.... I put mine back together but drove it and heard click, etc, and noticed axle had popped out 3/8 inch at the transmission, WTH. Tired and disappointed at the moment. Maybe there is no retainer ?

  • @daviddanh1772
    @daviddanh1772 3 місяці тому

    Extremely clear instructions.. but would a 2016 forrester be the same process ?

    • @kplv0924
      @kplv0924 2 місяці тому

      Did you ever find out if it is? I'm needing to do the one on my 2016 and this is the only Forester specific video I can find

    • @daviddanh1772
      @daviddanh1772 2 місяці тому

      @@kplv0924 no, i found mines is either a power issue or speed sensor.. but ive also read that it could be a number of things that are caused by any one of the other things in direct connection with whichever is faulty.. so its more trial and error for me at this point.

      Thanks for your response. I replaced the CV axle a couple days ago. My issue was getting the snap ring to seat when sliding in the new axle. I put the nut on the front of the axle and hit it with my hammer. That did the trick, it snapped in place. It runs nice and smooth again. Thanks again

    Why do some people remove the gold seals and others don't? I removed my subaru CV joints and they didn't have the seals. 2011 forester.

    Hi, I'm about to replace a front Axle on a subaru forester 2014, did you had to replace the differential oil after this? Did you lose any differential oil during this service?

    • @Mike_Costello
      @Mike_Costello 3 роки тому

      I've seen one other video on a 2011 and after forester and there was no oil leaking in that one or the one in this video. I'm still going to keep an oil catch tray below in case.

    6:10: Just the friction between the stud, the pry bar... caused by the unique atomic structure of the metals and iron alloys in particular... held together by the subatomic forces... nature of which is currently unknown to the science, ehhh... what are we about? I think I'm getting lost here ...
    Ha! Just use that pry bar to counter the turning momentum :)
