This is a very Mexican thing 😅 it's just something that has always been there and which we've grown used to but I can understand it would be annoying if you're only just experiencing it! Safe travels!

Hola Sarae! I generally didn't feel unsafe in Puerto Escondido. La Punta is pretty laid back, but not really local. The downtown area right behind Playa Carizalillo is a nice place if you can find accomodation.

    Hola Miguel!
Can you recommend types of accomodations and areas preferable for sociable, but not party people?!

Hey, Sinead! Of course! I'd say most of Puerto Escondido is pretty laid back unless you're right on a street with plenty of restaurants and bars. As far as accomodations go, I like staying in hostels for the sociability and unless you're staying in one labeled as a party hostel it'll be a pretty chill environment. I'd recommend the La Punta area or downtown, which are still pretty local, as Zicatela has more of a "strip" with bars and nightclubs.

Thank you for the feedback, Christine. I have a couple other videos which are very visual about the different beaches. You're welcome to see them if you're interested.
      Safe travels 🧳
