AMAZING HOW RURAL IT IS DOWN THERE WITH FABULOUS HOMES...
We love the Thames
I did leave £1.25 on your stern deck for the half a dozen beers.... You didn’t see it so I put it back in my pocket 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You know full well that Euros are not legal tender in this country ;-)
@@WeirontheMove Beers on me next time 👍
We are travelling in the opposite direction aren't we? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@FoxesAfloat We can always turn around.
The last time I was in the UK beer was a fiver a pint.!!!!!!!
I remember Bourne End, but didn’t recognise it in your vlog. As a 11 year old I rode from Gerrards Cross to Bourne End. It seemed like a long ride at the time. There were some beautiful houses and gardens you showed us.
Hi Mark and Julie love watching your Vlogs. Foxes a float's new puppy Otis is adorable!
Thanks, Charlie. Otis is adorable
Wow. Great vlog. God Bless
Thank you so much!
Hello there, beautiful scenery n interesting viewing, nicely put together video good music

I have to wear sunglasses most of the day for medical reasons?,
We feel for you, Robert. Thank you for liking the vlog and commenting. It means a lot to us.
I've just seen Silver Fox new vlog and met Otis. Love the wide beam x.
Cool, thanks
Hello Julie and Mark, hope you are keeping well. I have just finished ALL your vlogs, and that I thoroughly enjoyed them all. Keep it up.Ann Essex UK xx
Thank you so much, Ann
Lovely trip along the Thames. Just look at the riverside houses. Incredible.
They are!
I enjoy the banter between you and other live a boards. It is great to see the community at work! Otis is a treasure, are you thinking about a new dog?
Yes we are, Helly, but not just yet
I'm missing the Thames a bit more with each of your videos, please keep on cruising. Sometime I get the order of the locks wrong in my head, but you jog my memory back into place, Many thanks for that.
I used to like mooring at Cookham from when I attended their boating day, found a good wine shop on the High St. Made friends with a couple whos house used to race small single seat power boats, they invited me to use their mooring when ever it was empty. We would always share a few bottles of wine when we did.
I tried to moor on the common one evening but the only space's had a shelf below the waterline, after a few attempts a boater waved us over and invited us to raft against them.
Later their cooker top malfunctioned, we invited them aboard and cooked up a feast of their food and ours. Had a great chat over a few beers and really enjoyed the evening. Life can be so simple sometimes.
Reading your tales makes me want to swap lives. You sound like you have been blessed with wonderful experiences and fabulous chance encounters
@@WeirontheMove I like meeting people and listen to their tales, it's surprising how our live intermesh in some obscure way. I have been lucky to travel the world with my work, have a loving family who have put their hands to anything and made it work.
You have done the same and followed you dream, bought your boat/home and are traveling the rivers and canals of the UK. Maybe you will feel the urge to travel to Belgium and Holland and explore over there, if you do I can suggest plenty to do.
I'm hoping to get back to the UK next year maybe bump into you then, you never know.
If I get there first I'll put a brick on the wall, if you beat me, take it off. Bit like the Fox's beer money!!!
Well done, don't know what you did but it worked ,the sound on this video be it out on deck as you cruiseor in the Cabin it was faultless and much appreciated.
I was wondering is there a map of Henley showing where the rich and famous live like Hollywood?
Another delightful vlog thanks guys
Cheers
Thank you, Ralph. You are too kind. We don't think there is such a map, but the town is packed full of them. And Sonning
Here is my thumbs up before it comes out as all your videos are top notch.
Glad you like them!
nothing like a nice deck, nice banter guys.
Much appreciated!
Silver fox and Otis mentioned you so I poped in hi from lreland ,lovely video see you again soon I hope .
Awesome! Thank you!
at risk of being repetitive, I do so enjoy your music, thanks for including it!!! Great vlog.
Glad you enjoy it!
New subscriber...Came here Foxes Afloat...Enjoyed the vlog, I'll check out your other one's! Thank you for sharing...take care!
Welcome aboard!
The sunglasses, Julie hit hard again, Julie when you say Huge property, unfortunately it's not mine, lol
Unfortunately, it's not ours either, Jean-Louis
Beautiful and very funny vlog.
Thank you 😊
Great footage from the river. So beautiful. Miss the snorring so very much.
Glad you enjoyed it. We miss his snoring too. Not a day goes by when we don't think of him
with the flat stick on solar panels the sun is going to catch them no matter what position its in or your in, apart from being moored up under over hanging trees from both sides of the canal, i wondered about the panels and was told about the flat ones because unlike the conventional ones which you have to move to catch the sun the stick on ones you dont so ive been told
On the flip side, the stuck on panels don't ever fully face the sun and so never get the full force of that solar energy. It's a bit like compromising with never moving the panels but getting 70% productivity or moving the panels and getting 90 to 100% productivity. Moving the panels twice a day is no big deal really, Anthony
Hi Mark and Julie you need to get yourself a security strap for your glasses saves a lot of grief , Nice vlog and nice weather.Cheers
Hi Ramsey. I think I'll staple the new pair to my ears for security
Was me with the Deck! Lovely to see you!
You too!!
Lovely vlog as always Mark and Julie , you have no idea how jealous I am that you met Otis !
I do agree with you though , Colin and Shaun , complete reprobates 😉😀
Absolutely. Otis is joint cutest dog on the Thames. We did meet another who is as cute
Hiya its colin & julie great vlog were here in Braunston nxt to a friend of yours on her electric boat !!! Lol so glad to see you having fun on the thames question , what have you done with your car now ur on the thames parking safe really
Also what will or where will you moor as soon the floods will be arriving soon
Lastly you forgot to mention the love we would feel amongst other boaters here in Braunston having a wide beam lol
Hi Guys, have you been getting some stick from other boaters? They are less widebeam-friendly in that stretch, mind you, it could have something to do with that annoying woman on the electric widebeam. Say hello to her from us and tell her if she wants to see her ukulele alive again, she needs to send £1,000 in unmarked bills.
You were talking about the scenery around Cookham it's right on the edge of the Chilterns AONB. We live on top of a hill about 10 minutes away. Good to see some of our dog walks from the river. Thanks for the videos.
We wanted to walk it and visit the ancient sites, but ran out of time. We will be back there next year and will make better use of our time, that's for sure. And you are one lucky man, Roger, to live in such beautiful surroundings.
Cruised the same part of the Thames a few years ago in a 60 x 12 wide beam and had the best holiday ever. Each day we travelled less distance as we learned to just relax and enjoy the moment. It is a beautiful part of the river and we were lucky to have perfect weather. Many years ago I read there was a plan to add a section of canal to link the southern wide canals and rivers with the ones in the midlands which would double the cruising options but I never heard anymore about it? First time on your channel, thanks to the Foxes afloat, but I’ll be looking out for future content. Many thanks and keep up the good work.
They've been talking about for years, Nick. There are a number of proposed restorations that have been in the planning for ages and nothing seems to happen. We suppose it all boils down to money at the end of the day
Thanks for another lovely adventure along the Thames but unfortunately met up with yorkshire skinflints but at least they now have a nice new crew member, lol. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Our pleasure, Stevie
I'm new to your channel, thanks for sharing your journey with me. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching!
Thankyou again for brilliant vlog, I met Otis a little while ago, so sweet, Izzy has legs that look like stilts now!!🌻
Oh wow! Send us some updated pics when you can, Sherri
came here from Foxes xx
Welcome aboard
Good to see you made it to Henley ( A very boat-friendly town) Unlike Reading, further upstream where I'm from ..... It's probably THE most boat-un-friendly town you'll come across :-( ......... The council even seems intent on driving 'people' away from the river-bank by allowing it to over-grow out of control ..... very sad, as it used to be THE place to go not so long ago. I Now drive to Henley most weeks to walk the tow-path from the lock to the Angel and back. Never get tired of that walk and the moored boats change all the ime :-)
The state of the canal as you get outside Reading is a disgrace. We love Henley and of all the towns we visited, it was the one town we were the most excited to go back to. It is so vibrant and friendly
@@WeirontheMove..... Agreed :-) ..... I walked along the prom the other day with my grown-up daughter and four people specifically 'stopped' to speak to us (uninvited :-) .... You just don't get that in too many places these days .....
Hi Guys,A lovely vlog cruising past all those fancy houses. The son of a friend took a hospitality course and in his fourth year he was sent to a fancy hotel at Henley on Thames for 6 months,he wants to work in a five star hotel in a management position .
Sorry to report but like last week the sound when you were talking inside the boat was so low you couldn't understand what you were saying but when you were cruising it was fine .I've watched several vlogs tonight and all were fine.Enjoy the sunshine take care,
Cheers from Canada
Thanks for the heads up about the sound. We are flummoxed as to what could be the cause
I’m not that keen on wide beams but I do like you two. Please bear in mind when drawing your map that there is a 12 ft wide bridge on the Grand Union below the Stockton flight. A 12.5 ft wide beam on its maiden voyage got stuck there last year and damaged several locks.
Great bit of info, Andy. Thanks
Great vid and channel...jim
Glad you enjoyed it, Jim
You met Otis.
We did
I really enjoy the Hammered Dulcimer music you use. Just delightful. What a wonderful tour of the area. Such lovely homes. I heard that travel into the UK will not be allowed for years. Have you any knowledge of this??? That will seriously mess with our plans to visit and look for a boat.
Thank you very much! We haven't heard anything about inward travel, just outward journeys, Sue
Great video as usual, so my viewers question, I have mentioned to you before but I live in Llandudno 75 m from the beach, canals and rivers are generally inland ( inland waterways) do you ever miss the seaside 😃👍
We do, and when we visit our daughter we always try and take a trip to Bognor sea front
Left out the option of a black eye from Julie.
Don't give her ideas
AH HA!! You admitted Julie beats you up. The glasses are to hide you black eye(s).
Damn, I've been rumbled
Who checks up on your length of stay. How do the CRT know whos staying where?
The Canal and River Trust use spotters on each stretch of the canal and they list down your licence number
Hi guys, goes Otis make you want a third fee member again. Isn't he cute. Not sure if it's out tv, the sound has been low on you last couple of blogs.
It's an issue our end. Not sure whats happened but we'll correct it for next week. We do want another dog eventually
Are you tempted to get a little Otis of your own....
Very...
Blimey hardly a " Cruising The Cut " UA-cam meet up David style ......looks like the Foxes couldn't chip off fast enough.🤔
They went the following day
Great channel. Please Make More. ⭐️😍
