Thank you Mark . Goes in for the service work next work and new tyres. The original owner didn’t ride it much in the last two years and never in the rain . They have gone like hard plastic 😳😂

Great to hear from you Damien. You have certainly had some nice Kawasaki's. I have a lot of time for them too. Agree about the 6th gear! I have had my ZRX properly serviced now and will do a short video in the winter about what they found and did. I am very pleased with it and learnt a few things as well, which is always good. Thank you for watching. I am glad you enjoyed it .
Hello from Burry Port, 15 miles west of Swansea. You may be interested to know that, as far as I've been able to ascertain, only BP and Texaco sell petrol that has absolutely no ethanol content, that being their super unleaded options, even though the pumps have E5 on them. May be especially handy when possibly laying up a carbed bike for a while. Otherwise, Briggs and Stratton Fuel Fit is an alternative, which I've sometimes used in my own fuel injected Suzuki. All the best.
Hi Michael, great choice, my current ZRX was supplied new by Cradley and is also an 08 model in green, my previous ZRX was a 58 plate so registered even 6 months later, though possibly brought into the UK sooner and unsold. With respect to the ELS/Kwiks starter chain tensioner mod it is quite easy to do and does alleviate the problem of contact with the clutch pressure plate, I’ve carried it out on both my ZRX. While you are inside the cover it is also a quick job to change the starter chain and sprockets to the heavier duty ZZR1200 kit sold by Kawasaki as the only replacement part now for the ZRX, it superceded the standard parts. I have just removed the identical engine crash bars from mine, I believe they are genuine Kawasaki, the long bar through the frame replaces the original long engine mounting bolt, fortunately new parts are still readily available from Cradley. I wonder if Cradley fitted these bars to help sell the remaining stock ?? Looking forward to more updates
Looking at the original invoices the front "fender" extender was fitted when sold (mid july!) , as were the givi rack and R&G "cotton reels". There is no mention of the crash bars so I suspect you are correct - they were fitted as "stock" items to help sell the last few. I am pretty sure if they were retrofitted, I would have the paperwork. The last European bikes imported were I think, in 2007. They were tricky to sell and there will have been a few bikes at various dealers which in run off , they do move around? Cradley was probably one of the stronger sellers. Your "imported earlier and unsold" feels logical. I will change the starter chain and sprockets to the heavier duty as well as getting a new long engine bolt ! Thank you for letting me know.
Just to add I considered a new ZRX in 2008, the guy at Carlisle Kawasaki was bending over backwards to sell it….. I ended up going down to the Suzuki dealer and buying a new GSXR750 instead
Hi Michael. I might be wrong about this but I am sure they had blue and white stripes and not black and white. Quite a few owners had them painted with the black and white so I would look into that if that is correct and you want to keep it original. On another note these were continually produced in Japan and were upgraded with fuel injection and a six speed box. It would be interesting if any of these later variants were imported into Europe. Some one somewhere will know for sure. I am looking at the possibility of purchasing a new Z900rs se or the 50th anniversary edition this spring so I can't wait for the better weather to arrive. Take care and ride safe.
Thanks for watching and commenting Boz 👍 The UK bikes of that year were definitely white and black but other countries may well be blue . I cover the wider history of the bike in any earlier video although I inadvertently offended the (correct) purists who didn’t like my description of the later bikes as Eddie Lawson replicas 👍 I think Emission legislation prevented the direct import of the fuel injection models but I am sure some have been privately imported ? From memory the last one was 2006?
Michael, I was just on the phone with my friend Kwick (Pete Aronson) and told him you had shown a non-standard replacement starter chain and sprocket set up. I have watched so many of your videos lately, I don't remember which one that was in. He has watched some of your work, but not that one, and I want to send him a link.
I see you found it ! Thank you . You have certainly been catching up on the back catalogue .. glad you are enjoying them . I am never sure whether I prefer to make them in a regular way , Introduction , technical specifications , ride and conclusion or a ad hoc approach which I tend to use at shows and auctions ..
Michael, I rode my first ZRX for 9 years, and as I am on the ZRXOA, and was a mechanic, I am watching for different reasons than most. I have refurbished the 3 ZRXs I own during the last 18 months. You make very good videos, and I am learning from you. My videos will be "how to" and "check out this road or landscape" type videos. I am not committed to going forward as I am still information gathering. I am as old as dirt, but I still have my ZX10 track bike and thought that might be interesting content as well. I will probably not buy another airplane, but folks find flying interesting and I thought mixing it up some could be entertaining. I have been putting together clips I have saved for years, and the editing is getting easier. I am working on another flying video from old clips at the moment. Thanks for your help.
@@cadmanchannel ahh , that sounds fun . I have made 76 videos now , a couple of which were never released but I wanted to make for friends . I have learnt a lot as I have gone and like to think the progress , from “Introduction” in 21 to “Motorcycle live “ this year , has been noticeable . My objective , inspired by the isolation of Covid lockdowns in the UK , was to make a channel that feels like two friends , one me , the other the viewer , talking about motorbikes . Still a work in progress but getting closer . Costs significantly more to make them than I receive in advertising revenue and takes an extraordinary amount of time ( 5 to 6 days of work to make one half hour video) but I am still enjoying it . If I feel the idea gets a bit tired I will either evolve it or stop . 26 planned for next year though , so still having fun .
Having fun is the most important part, but you also provide a valuable service. Folks that want to know something about a bike can come to your channel for information as well as entertainment. Your videos have been posted on the ZRXOA board, and I put another one of yours on there a couple of days ago. My son set up my channel so I could share with friends and family, so the 90+ videos were just clips about what I was doing. I have been cleaning out the page of random clips and looking through my files for stories. I retired this year so I have more time. I have been drawing building plans for 24 years, so that's where the CADman came from. Thank you for taking the time to write.
@@cadmanchannel The Cadman makes sense now ! I do want the videos to entertain but act as one reference point for potential buyers as well . Lots of very good bikes in the market today . If I can help people make their own decision about a bike by trying to be as accurate and objective as I can , that is a bonus . I have been surprised how many people don’t get an opportunity to properly ride a bike before making a decision . We are lucky in the UK …
I am very happy with it Liam. I wanted a big Kawasaki carb bike to replace my Z1000 A1. I now feel I have the best of both worlds with a bike I know the full history of, which I like👍
@@michaelmam In a sense yes, as modern tech is better. However I do not like the transformer looking bikes. Or the road-adventure bike phase of the late 2000's, or whenerver it was. Honestly most new bikes that I look at on manufacturer websites, I do not like the look of.
@@threecats8219 I can understand that . “Transformer” style bikes aren’t to everyones tastes. Personally I like the upright adventure bikes but do find them tall at slow speed 👍
Absolutely stunning bike...as others have said, they don't make 'em like this anymore which is a massive shame...
What a beautiful addition to your collection. That bike looks absolutely immaculate. Very jealous!
