I am so touched seeing these movies of Pleasure Island... brings me back to being there as a child. You did such a beautiful job with this film.... the music and the still shots... so tender and lovely. Thank you.
This is great. Thanks for sharing. The music & the last shot of the little girl really grabs you. I remember Pleasure Island. It was a very special place for me. Two years ago, I had a business meeting at Edgewater Park where off Pleasure Island road. At age 58, I was filled with nostagia and emotion. Thanks for bringing these memories back to life!!!
I wish more people [like you] would convert and post their Pleasure Island home movies. Thanks again for sharing! It's a way of going down memory lane, and for those who weren't around, it's great history of a magical place that brought happiness and joy to SO MANY children! So many of us remember seeing our TV Favorites, like The Three Stooges, The Rifleman, The Lone Ranger, Little Joe of Bonanza, Lassie, Rickie Nelson, etc. at the Show Bowl in Pleasure Island. PI was simply the greatest!
Yes, thank you so much for uploading and putting together the images and music - very touching. The memories I have, growing up in Wakefield MA about two miles from the park and visiting OFTEN are my BEST child-hood memories! I like all the rides, but the Jenny cars were so much fun for youngsters - look at the boy laughing after he got off the Jenny car! Thanks again!
Was there in Like 66-67 I was 7 years old or so. I remember standing on a stool to put my head on one of those cardboard cut outs with my Dad next to Me. The cut out was of a Chimpanzee and a Gorilla. It was taken in front of the Hood Milk place. I still have the original photo. Ive been on the walking tour with Bob McLaughlin a bunch of times and brought the pic with me. People get a charge out of it. I recommend the walking tours. There a blast and Bob is a great guy. A nice way to spend a Sunday morning.
This footage seems to be so lost in time. Looking at all these people, I always wonder who they are now, what they are doing, etc. Wish I could have gone to PI.
