I see a lot of peiple use raw chicken. Do chickens live in brackish water or near the mangroves? I use raw duck which is a lot fatter and has a stronger scent. Not to mention mud crabs are a lot more likely to stumble across a dead duck in the water than a dead chicken. I would love to see a bait test with it.
For the fish juice that makes the fish go wild, I think that they put a small electric current through the water or something similar to make them act like that.

Not that you should try this because it's very illegal here in the United States. Lobstermen used to soak bricks in kerosene. lobsters and crabs are attracted to the oil smell. From what I hear it works amazingly.

Aniseed, that’s what’s in that liquid it definitely brings the bait around in Adelaide. Are used to use it when I was a kid and it would start a chain reaction with little fish then big fish don’t know hell go with the crabbing but it I’ll keep watching

Best stuff I’ve ever tried is tuna oil from BCF or similar. They also sell, I think, mackerel oil? Either of them I’d use. And chicken necks, from Coles or Woolies, soaked in the fish oils overnight always gets me crabs…mostly Jennie’s and undersized but still…😬🦀🦀🦀
