This theme + TT Miniature Wargame = the game Fear of the Dark. Thanks for sharing your AaF journey!

@@IthaquasBane haa, it is an awesome song (first CD I ever bought). The game also just revised its edition (not sure if it's officially 2e since it's pretty much the same, just reformatted mostly with some updates).

@@IthaquasBane same. Started music on 8-Track and vinyl, lived through cassettes, CDs, now streaming. And my first game was Red Box Basic D&D in 1984... Rock on 🤘🏻

@@mattj1871 No 8-tracks, but vinyl, cassettes with the 'fast-forward/rewind' pencil tricks were with me! I started the addiction with Red Box Basic and Warhammer 1st Ed. The days of innocence and dungeon designs that made absolutely no sense hahaha 😁

Please someone help. What happens when you enter a safe house? Do you heal any life or sanity?

Hi Tom. The entry in the specific table will tell you how much life/sanity you heal since there are differences depending where the safehouse is. Example #1 - Street Table - (1) - Safehouse you will heal 1 Life and 1 Sanity every time you enter. Example #2 - Cemetry Table - (4) - Safehouse you will heal 2 Sanity and 4 Life every time you enter. Hope that helps, and I hope you enjoyed the video!!

@@IthaquasBane thank you my friend. My confusion came from the issue that the safe house I created was from the Sewer table which has no such text explaining the healing rules. This was my first mission and believe it or not I rolled almost an entire town made up of sewers and churches (I thought of rerolling but I just went with it) and had not yet encountered a street or cemetary. It would be nice if the book had included the safe house rules in one of the other summaries at the end where it instead merely says that you heal "a certain amount." I ended up making my own rule and just rolling d6 each for Life and Sanity heals but it's good to know that there is specific text in the game. And yes thank you for the videos they are very informative. I watched some while reading the book and getting the idea of how to set up the map and write character sheets. I haven't played ttrpgs except for briefly with some neighbor kids many years ago and I always wanted to try and be a GM but didn't have friends who were interested. My wife wants to play so I am going to pick up some other rules lite games to try do you have any suggestions for a game or game system I could run with my wife or that I could run for her as a solo player, so she can learn? I'm eyeing 4AD and Basic Fantasy but more horror theme would be welcome.

@@s-nooze Hi Tom... there is a huge range of Solo/Co-op games that are worth looking into. 😁 I have covered a mere fraction on the channel, and have a huge backlog of games that I have scheduled to do (4AD being amongst them)!! "Notequest" is a surprising amount of fun, though tough to survive! "Scraps" is more of a journaling RPG game where you are more involved in creating the story, but also very unique in its design and theme with NO combat or violence! I'm currently enjoying "Be Like a Crow", a Solo RPG which can be played Co-op, involving... you guessed it, playing as members of the Crow family in a wide range of settings. The designer also has "Be Like a Cat" on Kickstarter at the moment which also looks to be a lot of fun!!
