Love all the garrison models, beautiful pistols. I've always been a fan of the more classic, bare bones 1911. Nothing flashy, no tactical stuff. I ended up buying the .45 commander garrison in blued steel. I think it will be my ccw for quite a while.
Great review. Tough choices. I went with the 9mm - 5" in Stainless. Added my own G10 grips for a personalized touch. It is a great gun, like you said. I'm not disappointed at all. 100% reliable at the range with just a few 100 rounds. Looking to keep this for a long, long while and it'll still be around for the next couple of generations.
Put it back to original. And send it back to SA to get the TRP upgrades. Like front checkering and Magwell and night sights. And u still keep your life time warranty

Well colts are junk and fell off back in the day with 80 series and plastic parts and horrible quality control and has failed bankruptcy several times. So colts reputation is not like it used to be.
I bought the 45 full size and love it.

Got the 5” stainless garrison in .45-Added Wilson combat G10 grips and billet magwell and Dawson precision sights-Love the damn thing!!!

How do these stack up against the Colt competition models or Ruger SR1911?
