- A simple rendition of the beloved hymn written by Julia Ward Howe in 1861. This powerful song--an inspiration to northern forces and folk--is now finding its way outside the walls of abortion clinics. Why? Because the notion that one individual is less human than another, due to skin color or position, is an ancient one. An evil of the same kind. I think Ms Howe would be pleased.

I agree. I meant no disrespect but since this song was for a time sung on the public sidewalk outside a clinic where children were considered property, I thought "live" might be more appropriate. An artistic license kind of thing. Perhaps not the right decision, but that was my reasoning. All the best.

They came clad in grey uniforms in the 1860s, saying that blacks were naught but property, and they come in red hats today, saying that a woman's womb is naught but property of the state. Any proper Yankee should oppose them, and guarantee the rights of all people, including a woman's to her body.
