Battle Hymn of the Republic (A cappella)

  • A simple rendition of the beloved hymn written by Julia Ward Howe in 1861. This powerful song--an inspiration to northern forces and folk--is now finding its way outside the walls of abortion clinics. Why? Because the notion that one individual is less human than another, due to skin color or position, is an ancient one. An evil of the same kind. I think Ms Howe would be pleased.
    Here's a Christian fantasy I think you'll find encouraging. www.amazon.com...
The last verse speaks of Him, www.readytomeet...
    Blessings and prayers

Very good. I wish they had done the real lyrics, which never fail to move me. "As he died to make men holy, let us _die_ to make men free." Armies of men marched in the Civil War with this on their lips.

Finally a rendition of the song that has some masculininity, conviction, and seriousness to it. Been looking for 2 hours for that.

Once again .the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish 🐠.when it was full .the fisher men pulled it up on the shore .then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets .but threw be bad way .this is how it will be at the end of the age .the angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous .

It is "LET US DIE TO MAKE MAN FREE" not live. Those brave souls were willing to put their very lives at peril to end slavery. Do not diminish that commitment.

I agree. I meant no disrespect but since this song was for a time sung on the public sidewalk outside a clinic where children were considered property, I thought "live" might be more appropriate. An artistic license kind of thing. Perhaps not the right decision, but that was my reasoning. All the best.

Amen brother. It is the duty of every good Christian to stand up to the southern tyrants. They came clad in grey uniforms in the 1860s, saying that blacks were naught but property, and they come in red hats today, saying that a woman's womb is naught but property of the state. Any proper Yankee should oppose them, and guarantee the rights of all people, including a woman's to her body.
