Why is it that we hated seeing the ads when they came on but now we search for them. Marketing geniuses making us remember and search for these ads.
facts
I was just thinking this 😂
Because your show was literally being interrupted and it annoyed you. Now you like it because it isn't interrupting anything
@@isaacanthony2101 Yeah, you're CHOOSING to watch these ads
Nostalgia
I was once staying in a hotel on the Gold Coast and I went onto the balcony and got some reason I decided to shot, “1-3-DOUBLE-O-6-TRIPLE-5!” And two secs later, I hear “O-6!”
So that was you 😂
It's my genuine belief that the Reading Writing Hotline may have created one of the most successful ad campaigns of all time; just about everyone I've met can recite that jingle.
1:22 any kid who was even SEMI CONSCIOUS in the 2000s remembers this. I remember dialing them in 2010. I was only 5 and thought that they would help *kids* so I called them thinking they could help me write a short story for my kindergarten writing practice.
I'm shitting tears remembering it. My mom is actually close friends (still) with the operator who was helping me that day and it warms my heart whenever I talk to her. Realizing she's seen me grow from a silly and naive sheila to the silly but not as naive adult(?) i am today. I'm mildly surprised that she didn't kick me from the phone line or ask me to tell my mom.
Hell yeah. Props to all friendly operators and you for dialing that number. I'll probably be thinking of your story now every time that number barges into my brain.
No because as a child I honestly thought it was a kids hotline sorta thing, thanks for somewhat confirming my suspicion 😂
Haha awesome. Thanks for sharing a beautiful story.
Dogs go wacko for Schmackos!!!
Missing the Aami Katut+Rhonda ad and the 'not happy jan' for yellow pages
I always loved that Carlton Daught ad
Filmed in New Zealand.🤣
.
Best one!
@@Goatboysminion Nobody cares where it was filmed, On a side note, Are you from NZ yourself? Because your name would make sense then...😂😂😂🐑💘
@@calabrianndrangheta9037 Jacob I'm sure lot's of people might be curious as to where this was filmed. Because it sure as shit wasn't filmed in Australia.
And iff you really want to crack the door on the other?
Ask your Mum why she says "maa-maa" when she gets real excited.
@@Goatboysminion Righto goatboy, Keep rounding up them sheep😉😂

remember that one watch advertisement, where the watch falls out of the gutter into the farmers coffee?
Adina watches, was a time when Australia had it's own manufacteuring, a good standing currency and comfortable living aussies
i have the reading hotline phone number permantly imprinted into my brain after all the years of that add playing
1 3 double ohhh six triple fiiiive oh six
Need the good Ajax Spray and Wipe Ad when the grandma has guests coming…. Old but gold
Is there anyone else who saw that broadband ad as a kid and only now gets the joke?
Most of these already live rent free in my head but I've never stopped to actually think "wait what the fuck actually is inner health plus" lol
funny how a couple of these ads are still on TV today like the pauls milk ad and the reading and writing hotline
the reading writing hotline was my childhood
2:52-3:52 the first ad that comes to mind when I think of iconic Aussie ads
I miss when every ad was a good ad, only a few good ads nowadays. Thanks so much for making this compilation
Don't watch tv anymore so wouldn't know. Everything is streamed now so no ads.
@@Fred-hk7wk i get a lot on youtube
@@jess.m9 pay for premium, no ads.
@@Fred-hk7wk i can't really afford that at the moment :(
@@jess.m9 $12 a month?
I forgot about that Toyota ad until I saw this video's thumbnail. That was a great one!
watching cricket back in the early to mid 2000s so much more special with these bangers dropping left right and center between overs.
"Paul's Smarter White Milk. Smart choice..."
What a throwback
have yall been getting that same paul white milk ad lately? youtube been putting that on my ads and i got an insane nostalgia bomb
Awe the memories come flooding back! Such nostalgic feelings!
Ahhhh so many memories but they should have shown the original cottees ad. Also you forgot the Yellow Pages ad, Not happy Jan.
criminal not having the carlton mid strength "michael jameson! what are you doing here?" ad in this mix
The Paul’s Milk, 1300655506, Snickers, Banana Boat and Mortein ads are etched into my memory
VB tried to one up Carlton Draught. I am a musician, so it says a lot when I say they failed. That Carlton ad is next level.
Every time I hear the piece of music from the Carlton Draught ad, I sing there words. It can't be played for anything else now, it's been tainted 😂
This is some core memory content right here.
The flight angel ad was there for about 15 years. 0:15 i still remember it 😢
I’m from Ireland and I visited Australia once when I was nine and I remember seeing the Banana Boat advert on TV. 😄
Lol nice
Benene bote
Good trip down memory lane.
Still remember that milk ad word for word, 20 years later
The flight angel ad was there for about 15 years. i still remember it 😢
The Smiths chips ad from the late 80's 90's with gobbleduk- chippie chippie chippies!!!!
9:27 9:47 i remember these ads. can't believe there's no amy ads tho.
Anyone remember the fire safety PSA? I remember one line was "JUNK AND FIREWOOD CLOSW TO THE HOUSE".
Some of these are so vivid to me
the great wall one with nazi goreng and the rabbits is just so classicly aussie
wow. cant believe i remember these
my mate to this day can quote the pauls smarter white milk ad word for word
Remember the Smith's Chips ad around the unfinished stadium 2004 Athens Olympics...Construction guys sitting having a break, Starter gun goes off and then Runners appear on an unfinished track bumping into wheelbarrows and stuff...It was hilarious....
No greater love than that man and his Hilux
have you had your inner health plus today?
lol
i remember those hilarious "rondo and cratut" ads of their little love story
4:00 yessssss VB orchestra
I wouldn't say these were the most famous ads.... Plenty of other well known ones.
Anyone else remember the car ad featuring Nostradamus? The salesman keeps listing features of the car, and Nostradamus keeps saying that he knows about them. Then at the end of the ad Nostradamus makes some joke about having had a good night at the dishlickers...
I loved this, opened up a memory file deep in my brains file cabinet from my childhood. Im after two ads that aren’t featured in your list though… do you remember the SOLO soft drink ad where the garbage man steals his can he had in his eski and the bloke chased him down to get it back? Also there was a backyard waterslide ad where the young fella uses it without water and you see his stomach and chest all bloody (unsure how that was good marketing) but yeah if you remember those I would love to see them again 😂😂😂
7:10 I love that commercial 😊
So nostalgic.
hilux ad the best
I just want milk that tastes like real milk
0:39 That is the immortal snail coming for you!
I really enjoyed, 😊thsnxs for bringing back all those memories , I’ve saved, can’t believe I’m saving adds , there usually annoying lol
Can't believe I had to watch ads to watch a video about ads
Thanks for making this
IT"S A BIG AD
Hahah, I’ve never seen that Carlton one, but that was epic! 😂
Where is the “Bugga” ad?
Vic Bitter for a hard earned thirst great adds they were especially when John Mellion was alive and did them great memories.
Banana boat my favorite ad 😂
Why I still remember this laundry list of milk varieties and rattle it off when making someone a cuppa is quite disturbing.
Thank you, great to show my kids 😂
In the 80s, in kindy, we used to sing "My dad picks his bum and sends it to Cotteeees, to make the cordial......"
I came here for the Carlton Draught Big Ad. Anybody else?
You forgot the Blue Heeler that said Bugger when everything went wrong. Classic Aussie Ad.
Love the hilux one of course. Do you have the ad where i think its for energex? Or for batteries? Pulling the sun down like it's a big solarpowered/or batterypowered light? It was only a few years ago?
6:59 is quite the view
loved the video
Charter boat? What charter boat?! My mum loved that one
that snickers ad has my cousin's brother in it. he's the one on the green bike.
Cool
@@sarawilliams4210 I’m not saying it as a lame claim to fame. Just a neat little fact I thought people might like.
Thats very cool. Now you can use that as something to brag for a claim to fame. Great ad.
I laugh with this ad because it's me .
Isn't your cousin's brother also your cousin???
I found it slightly annoying in the old reading/writing ads that they would say O instead of zero. Like if you were trying to help people with their reading at least get the number right.
7:27 I've been looking for this ad for years.
So good
Thanks
SO MANY GOOD ONE LINERS!
im indian my all childhood days through this add
i really missed those days
they brought back the Pauls milk one I see it all the time now
1:05 it was actually built to keep out the Mongolians and mercenaries.
nah mate definitely rabbits.
That's the joke
Forgot the handbrake... rock.
Because the toyota handbrake don't work 😂
What’s that one ad how u put ur hands together and it kinda looks like a sideways diamond, it’s stuck in my head
from little things big things grow... its for industry superfunds
where is the moccona ad??? that song is so catchy and like actually sounds nice to have in your head
The Hilux add is my favorite add of all time
I used to copy the "thank you" and bow from Banana boat
Problem with my goggomobil, GOGGO
Wouldn't get away with that Cadbury ad these days.
😄
Why? I don’t get it
@@BellaVita97 "black face"....
5:24 I still quote this all the time
ah yes, the great that as old commercials, they don't really make them like they used to... well not in the hoards like before.
The Lamb ads are pretty good.
I’m gonna go get me a Carlton draught 👍
Awesome for sure - but where was “That’ll be the phone … “?
Can anyone remember the ad that says “I like the shape”? I can’t for the life of me think of what it is
Look at how big the Cadbury chocolates use to be. Triple the price now and smaller.
2008 nrl ad goes hard
I love a ad ding dong did some body say menulog 🎶
Does anyone remember the Christopher ad like what company it was for? It’s the one where his boss drives past and whispers Christopher
Man I love Nasi goreng
The fact that the Simples ad wasn't included hurts my soul
Do yall remember the Greens I think it was ad in 2018? either 2016 - 2019 but it was Aussies arent gonna cop it
Australia vs United States
