How I Made a Cthulhu Gateway Door Decoration for my Apartment

- Continuing our Halloween theme of Cthulhu, Lovecraft, and Elder Gods, we designed a stone gateway or portal to the Elder Gods. Special thanks to @WickedMakers for showing us how to assemble and texture the insulation foam. We adapted their method to fit our apartment door and rather than having runes we added the Elder Gods seal from H.P. Lovecraft's stories to the top of our gateway. Now when the cultists come over for our Halloween party they will get to walk through the portal rather than see projections on a screen. "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu lies dreaming."
Materials Used:
Insulation Foam from Home Depot
Utility Knife and Self Healing Cutting Mat
Wagner 4500 Heat Gun
Gray Acrylic Paint from Walmart
Gorilla Glue and Hot Glue Gun
Wire and Command Strip Style Hooks from the Dollar Tree
Spray Bottle and Water
very cool !!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. Do you have any suggestions for future projects?
This turned out to be amazing!
We appreciate that!
Amazing! Love to see Cthulhu represented in Halloween decor
We agree. There's not enough Cthulhu out there. We even had a Cthulhu themed Halloween party complete with Cthulhu board games and Cthulhu foods. Let me know if you have any other Cthulhu or other creepy ideas of things to make. We are even looking to sell our stuff on the Etsy store we created.
So I cant have a plastic straw and this guy gets to just waste all that platsic / foam for a crappy decoration used for 1 day.
Yup thats the world we live in.
Best we can hope for is cthulu actually showing up.
Almost like all those gaudy plastic Christmas decorations people put up? The end result isn't crappy. Go be bitter elsewhere.
If foam is stored correctly it can last a long time, it can be reused, unlike a plastic straw.
It also looks cooler than a plastic straw.
