I scrolled through all these uploads to find this song and say that this track got me through a rough time in my life. This one holds a special place in my heart

I know that many people relate to this song as in "I was betrayed by someone that acted like a monster", but I always visualized it as if the singer is someone being hunted down by a succubus style demon or cryptid that lures victims with an angelic guise only to reveal itself as a monster and devour them. This song is basically what goes on through the victim's head as the creature stalks them with the end being the moment right before they are consumed by it.
That's kinda how I interpreted it too

You just described it using a fantasy theme. Only difference is he is being hunted and knows it. In reality these creatures lure you in and like with most traps when you figure it out it is too late. You either never get out or stick with the wounds it left you sometimes never fully healing.That angelic guise description is so on point.

I agree. I only discovered them while working on a personal side project and have only listened to the classics. I don’t like the more metal songs. These classics are helping me through a rough situation I’m going through with my girlfriend’s parents/ my parents about us being together. It’s a fucked up deal but from what I can tell neither of us gives a damn about what they say. I plan on asking her about it later this week or next week for confirmation.

I've never related to this song more than I do now... I had a best friend a while ago. they grew to be my favorite person in the world. we were so close. the strongest bond humanly possible. I come here to this song as I've learned that the one who was my favorite person in the world turned out to be a facade. a lie. that that person had purposefully got close to me, forged an image that I would appreciate. learned my likes and dislikes, told me the things I wanted to hear. told me wonderful things. built me up and made me happy only to tear down the foundations they had put beneath me. they actively sought to destroy me. and it worked. I fell for it. so this song fits them perfectly.
