I know the meaning of this song is to portray the night as a living entity but when I listen to this I think its about a guy who is fighting the darkness but can't and by the end he says give into the night which could be suicide
Kinda it is about giving into the darkness but more as a positive than a negative. Although given the pain that is evident throughout this album I would not be surprised if David gave it a dual meaning
I cant take any comment by "twilight sparkle" seriously
Idk how anyone could miss this is about suicide when thd frontman literally says "this is about suicide. If you know someone who might be, please reach out"

I remember reading in a metal magazine back in 2009 or 2010 when this song was hot on the radio that it was about life from behind the eyes of a dog with an abusive owner n it’s him escaping and running away, I mean the lyrics do kinda tell that story. I wish I could remember that dam magazine, coulda been metal edge, maybe guitar world, maybe hit parader but I don’t think it was that one, that usually just had photos n posters. If anyone knows about it, let me know, my favorite disturbed song for sure, next to voices, the animal, liberate, and guarded
