I am absolutely loving your channel! As a new spinner your videos are exactly what I am looking for every time I search yours are the first I click on. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I agree it's not what I thought with burgundy, green and the blue .. The addition of the extra green is a yea I like it. It's a happy green you have to smile when you look at it..
I personally love the green. I think that to keep more blue and make self stripping you would have left off the extra green . spin half of the burgundy, half of the blue, all of the green, the other half of the blue, and then the other half off the burgundy in that specific order. I know this from an experience i had while experimenting with some small bits of green dyed wool i got on ebay. lol i fell in love with wool that night. try it, it makes a really nice gradient self striping yarn without store bought perfection.
lol - no not a total fail - I'm probably on same page as you with loving the gradient before it greenified. My daughter however who's fav colour is green - thinks it's the best thing she's EVER seen! As always, a joy to watch your videos :D
giggle! I'm glad she's loving it! I think if I were a hardcore green lover like her I'd be more impressed too :) Thank you for watching and commenting! :D
the word for an irregular or mottled colour is "abrash". It comes from the rug trade and refers to the natural variation in colour present especially in natural dyes. I love the green. :)
How hard do you think it would be to hand make a spinning wheel? i don't want it powered, i want to make a mechanism that works with just foot pedaling.
Ashley from How to spin yarn has a section in her hardcover book (how to spin and dye yarn) that teaches you how to make one out of pvc! It looks totally doable.
Beautiful color!
Looks great!

+margaret minshull thank you for the kind comment :)
I think you could have over dyed the skein with a shade of blue and been happy with the color change of the green and original spin.

I think that it looks totally GORgeous with the green! 💗
My favorite color combo is purple an green, so I loved it! Yay green!
I love the green, Grace! It looks beautiful 😃 what did you make with it? Love your vids x
Would love to see it knit up. Maybe the other colors will magically appear when knit

Pretty! I like the green but it does cancel out the other lovely colors. Do you ever chain ply to keep the colors together?
I do, but not so often as it takes a ton of extra yardage and I hate to spin singles that thin. *whineeee* ;p
