    This is absolutely the best video that I have seen on blending board use! I forget to use mine, but I sure have some great ideas now! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Just got my own DIY blending board and didn't know which way the tines show go. No one else shared that knowledge. TY!

    Your videos inspired me to finally try to make my own yarn!
    I made a spindle of some things I found in our garden shed, and I had some wool for felting (like, readymade sausages lol don't know the real name) that I blended on my lap to loosen up the fibers. It was kinda hard to make it even, some bits got very thin which made it harder for the thicker bits to spin.
    But it was fun and I was able to repair it when it came apart! :)

      Yay I'm glad you've started! I started off with roving and a crochet hook I spun manually :) My first yarn was super bumpy too. ♡

    I just ordered myself a blending board and this video was super helpful! Is that brush you're using like a hair brush?

    Hi Grace,
    I tried to find a "Dye" book on your Etsy shop (you mentioned it when you introduced that kettle dyed braid you used in this video), although I found Card, Blend, Roving I couldn't see dye. Did you mean the Roving one? I'm mostly interested in dyeing my own roving. Thank you

    Love the blue green roving. Do you have a record of what you dyed to achieve this?

      Yes! It's in my upcoming book DYE. You'll find the demo video coming out soon if you keep an eye out :)

    Hi Grace love the video. So I got a blending board and I bought a brush that looks like the one you are using. It is a bores hair bristle brush, but I find it sheds hair all over my fiber. So now I am thinking I don't have the same brush. What brand or kind of bristled brush are you using for your blending board?

    I love your how-to videos! You explain things so clearly and even make super pretty fluff:) I am looking at (diy) blending boards and I am not sure if I should go for 72tpi or 108 tpi. Which one do you use, or would you recommend? I will mostly be using combed top from different sheep breeds, kind of like you use it I guess haha. I think you are a huge inspiration for my fiber dreams and I enjoy all your videos a lot. Thanks!

      Awh your making me blush dude :D
      I have a 72tpi and find it's great for all kinds of fiber fine or chunky. I would only recommend a higher tpi if you do almost exclusively alpaca and the like.

    Awesome video! Thank you!
    How many rolags can you usually get from a blending board? Or how many would you recommend getting before starting another blend? ( if that makes sense haha)

    • @GraceShalomHopkinsFiberArt
      @GraceShalomHopkinsFiberArt  8 років тому

      I get 4 big ones usually, or that's the goal I have in mind when I lay down fiber. If you put down a thicker or thinner layer that number can fluctuate. :) Also if you do punis, tiny little tight rolags, you'll probably get maybe 8?
