Part 23: • Teddy Riley: Dr. Dre d...
Part 1: • Teddy Riley on Growing...
    --------
In this clip, Teddy Riley revisits a conundrum that he had at Interscope Records when Suge Knight purposefully used the music for "No Diggy" and added 2Pac to it. He explains that after he told the label's CEO Jimmy Lovine, the track was pulled, but then it was re-released as "Toss It Up" with 2Pac, Aaron Hall, K-Ci and JoJo, and Danny Boy as a diss track aimed at him and Dr. Dre. As the discussion moves along, Riley talks about the legacy of "No Diggity" and how the song remains relevant to this very day. Lastly, he reveals that Suge Knight once tried to charge him $50K for a feature from Snoop Dogg.

I'll give y'all a jewel I never heard anybody else mention anywhere: Teddy Riley sneak dissed them back in a smooth way. They tried to take Teddy's beat and 2Pac was screaming on the track about how they wasn't rocking it right. Teddy's very next single with Blackstreet? "Don't Leave Me Girl," which used the same sample as "I Ain't Mad Atcha." I see you Teddy 😂 That was smooth. I can't be the only person in the world who caught that back then.

I really never got into that song,no diggity,it just wasn’t my cup of tea.there are songs from the 90’s that when they initially came out I wasn’t with it but they grew on me when I became an adult.for one,I understood the subject matter,it became not just about melody but also the musicality of a song. I started enjoying music different as an adult(90’s and early 2000’s being my fav era).no diggity however I still can’t get jiggy to it

Teddy is reaching on being dissed on Toss It Up. The song was clearly a diss towards Dre; Teddy was just caught in the crossfire when mentioned in the outro because No Diggity was Blackstreet's joint.
