- Protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza interrupted an Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.
The protesters, who were part of Extinction Rebellion NYC’s Palestinian Solidarity group, unfurled a banner with the words "SILENCE = DEATH" written on it.
They were heard chanting "Free, free Palestine" as they were escorted out of the cathedral.

@@Aliabdi22006 I think the point of protesting is to make yourself heard, and get people to join your cause. Like in the Civil rights protests, they had civil disobedience, but they didn't disrupt church services. They went into segregated spaces, did marches, and made speeches. Also, the Catholic Church already supports the Palestinians. It's the Evangelical Churches that are anti palestine. They should protest outside, and make speeches trying to get the people to agree with them. Or even walk in and protest once the service is over, or before hand.

The Civil Rights movement, women's suffrage, anti apartheid in South Africa, and India's independence movements worked because they got more people to fight for their cause. They were disruptive to the State, but I don't think they caused a scene in religious gatherings.
