    Canvas tents have to be "SEASONED", you wet it down and then let it completely dry. That will cause the fibers of the canvas to swell and close up preventing leaks.

      do what i told you about canvas, take it to the tub give it a nice hot bath, then air dry it, like other guy said, SEASON canvas, get them fibers to open and swell fill in the gaps, another 2 things is look into nice thin layers of wax(wear your arms out working that was in on a big tent) or STAR BRITE water proofing chemical at $50 a gallon, but good ole seasoning works best, think of them as denim jeans, the more you wash and wear them the more soft n comfy they become

    The tent looks huge on the inside, way bigger than from the outside view. The setup with the tent and bottom separated is pretty sweet

    Canvas tents are a more authentic way to camp if you ask me. And yes, the Sawyers absorbs well into Canvas and would remain
    effective the entire season. A little wax on the leaky seems will make quick work of that. Even chapstick works in a bind.

    so does this tent breathe like a standard cavas tent breathes??? how did waterproofing work for this fabric?? Thorough set up and included item review will follow you in future TYVM

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  22 дні тому

      I never waterproofed it so I can’t speak on that. Usually canvas has a need to be soaked to allow the fabric to swell and become “waterproof” but for some reason manufacturers don’t do that for you and also don’t tell you to do that. They just claim it’s waterproof, not that you need to do anything to make it so first. I believe it’s breathable like any canvas yes. No way to really test that, that I know of. Thanks for watching

    Seriously, you can get a 4m bell tent up in ten minutes.
    If you're new to them fair enough, but you can't call inexperience a con.
    If you can afford and justify it, buy a good quality bell tent, treat it well and it will last you years.
