For people of the future: there used to be a bug where your bounty target was a non-hostile Mercury Starrunner and killing it would send you to jail. Good times! 😆
Yeah I love the look of it and I'm honestly surprised the price didn't increase more. Given that the scorpius performs very similarly to it at the same price point, I figured the alien tax would've pushed this one higher
I wish you would have stripped off the bugged repeaters and put standard ones on it to test it. That would give folks a much better feel for how the ship will actually perform.
Yep i actually considered doing that as well, but at that point i had re-cut and re-shot things a few times and I just wanted to get it out rather than spending hours and hours getting more footage (For this 7 or so minute video i have like 4+ hours of footage recorded and then I pick the stuff that I think best represents what the ship is actually like)
I kept my Inferno after the shitstorm of vitriol unleashed after the Ares was nerfed - sure, I didn't fly it as much, but every once in a while I'll pull it out. Recently, it's become closer to the god of war of it's namesake. I definitely could have melted it ages ago and then picked it up again, not saying that isn't the way to go. Point of the story is - I'll keep my Santokyai as well, and see how things develop.
yeah I'm pretty happy with the STY as well, I like how it flies and it's quite capable of tackling up to VHRTs. I just hope they tone down the audio in the cockpit.
Another great video, thanks bud. Enable that tip/thanks feature so I can chuck you some bucks for a few beers! Or come to Seattle and I'll buy you beers in person. Maybe we could run through a corridor and trip and die on impact.
Hahaha thank you so much! that's so incredibly kind of you. I have recently started putting a ko-fi link in my vid descriptions for anyone that wants to take their support a level further, but I should probably enable it on YT as well - thanks for the suggestion. Also, funny you should mention that... I used to live in seattle... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away
I have been waiting for this ship since I joined. I tried it in the PTU build, loved it, but probably not going to keep it. It's too expensive for it's use, it's nice to have to climb the bounty rep, but after you hit HRT's you really want something with cargospace to earn the real money. I'll probably upgrade mine to a Corsair and it will likely be one of the first ships I'll buy in game after wipes
CIG going to be nerfing bounty loot anyway. Don't buy a ship for a meta use that's going to be outdated in 8 weeks . Buy it cause you enjoy flying and using it.
Yeah I think at higher bounties you'd ideally want something with higher dps if you're going to have a dedicated fighter, but I still think the ship is a lot of fun to fly
I would, consider as well the Scorpius Q&A mentioned how you could blade the turret in a way it would lock firing forward and be combined with pilot firepower, which is nice when you don't have a gunner

Honestly between the Scorp and the STY, I prefer the STY for a solo pilot. The position of the weapons is nicer and the additional agility is definitely appreciated.
Just love the interior. When can we buy it ingame? I Switched my Syulen for a Hornet but I miss the agility of the Syulen. Still getting used to the Hornet but so far I have been doing HRT missions better with the Syulen. Takes some time though.
Yeah its a great ship. Probably not available in-game for 3-6 months which is usually what it takes. I'm surprised you prefer the syulen over the hornet, what build are you using on the hornet? @@WingZeroType I used to sidestrafe a lot with the Syulen which is harder with the Hornet but I'm re-learning my flight style and I have better results now. Yeah CIG is still calling it a medium fighter but the capacitor of the ship is a heavy fighter and it's got enough other things in common with heavy fighters as well. I usually go by the capacitor amount since that usually feels right to me.
Yeah I don't really have a use for either of those since I have a C1 and a titan, and I think the STY is a really cool ship. I just really want them to lower the engine sound in the cockpit lol.
Some ships are just flawed by their design from a start. This ship is a good example of it. I thought to buy it, but I remember my struggles with Khartu and... naaah, it's not worth it. As with most of alien ships, you won't regret buying it only when you become "air conditioner" of its design.
@@retrowrath9374 Fair enough, I get your point. Yet most of the time CIG releases ships buffed for good salea and then somewhat downgrade it to fit existing shipline. There are tons of ships to re-balance to make them viable in current state. I fear, that waiting for balance will take more than a while. Until then we have to fly this very ship as it is for years. On its own it is a fine craft, but it have more potent rivals. And no matter of balance, this huge crosssection will still be there.
I'd say this ship rivals the smaller heavy fighters more than the sabre. But I definitely understand struggling with how this ship has ended up. Personally, I think they need to make it have significantly stronger side strafe g-forces to help account for its lower dps and large profile
It does not have a better roll than the F8C. The San Tok Yai only has a roll of 153 degrees that's 23 degrees less than that of the F8C. It generally performs poorly in PvP.
Yes you're totally right! I think the more important factor is the pitch so I tried to do some summarization there instead of pointing out each individual component. I don't pvp much so I'm curious, is a higher roll rate usually taken advantage of? I feel like I've never been wanting for more roll performance, only pitch.
