Some of these I'd have high on my list as well... Sunshine Man, Tabac Tabou, Salome. Prefer Coeur de Noir from Beaufort, and would add Oud Imperial extrait (Perris Monte Carlo).
Never smelled that Oud Imperial but it is on the never ending to sniff list 🐽

Dude, incredible list, seriously!! You have convinced me to focus on the Papillon house and I can't wait to try her stuff! After watching all of your 80's, 70's and 60's lists and jumping straight to this video I know the difference in fragrances is there but man the bottles were so cool back in the day. I'm looking forward to the upcoming years in this series!

I have the tartan bottle of HR Dress Code. Lovely fragrance, especially for night time. I dont find it super close to HR DNA for a flanker. Best Wasser's work for me.
I love Guerlain especially when they touch on their history .... I need to review both Habit Rouge and dress code soon 🍻
Greetings, Ram! Lol another occasion of Ram praising pooey fragrances like Figment and crapping on my new fav, Absolute Aphrodisiac. No joke, I just smelled most Initios at Dillard's today! Musk Therapy was the best, IMO, followed by AA, Rehab (very close to Spicebomb Fresh), Blessed Baraka, Oud for Greatness. The rest I didn't like. My finds of the day were Paul Sebastian and Vince Camuto Smoked Oud.

Im a fan of Rodrigo Flores-Roux too. Uses a lot of notes - interesting notes, and is essentially the John Varvatos "House Perfumer". Nice scent profiles with cheap materials and poor performance. I like Dark Rebel Rider just a bit more than Dark Rebel too. Artisan Pure. John Varvatos OG with its date and tamarind notes. He also did the 2010 reimagining of Houbigant Fougere Royale, which is very good.

Figment i wore a sample I got twice so far. It’s been hard to like it, but it reminds me of my childhood, the moist soil smell, idk… I’ll give it a few more wears before getting to a conclusion 😅
It is one of the most challenging Amouage frags... it also took me a while to wrap my head around it ...but what a fragrance 💪🐏
Ramsey! Glad you've been enjoying the goutal bottle. I believe the original was called Amber savuage,created by Annika Goutal,who appears to have passed some years back.
Sunshine man is nice! i think Eau Noir has similarities to it but I prefer to wear both in cool weather. Congrats on frags sent & looking forward to your reviews on them. Not Dark Yet sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing. A2!
I wore all three Perito Moreno frags to bed last night and they are all good but all designer in smell... they smell like they belong in a Dior Prive line range to me 😆

Since you received frags directly from dixit,who lives in India, I was wondering if India's new fragrance shipping policies had changed or were still in place,as it appears they according to my source, played a part in the demise of brand .
Another collector I know did business with brand & brand tried 4 attempts to ship product to them from India to U. S but failed as India's new policies outlawed shipping frags outside of country. With some luck,one shipment slipped through & made it to my friend,but it took 6 months.
So in there opinion ,brand came to an unfortunate end due to India's restrictive regulations of shipping frags to other countries. If so, one could understand why Zak decided to move to Dubai. Anyway that's my understanding in it all. It was very generous of Dixit to send you 3 of his new brand Creations. Wish him much success🙂! A2

Oh man I have both Patchouli and Cuir from Molinard. In UK at a famous perfume website, they have been available for £30 - $39 for months. No one is buying them it seems! My gf loves them more than my other expensive patchoulis, and they last, crazy!

Great list! I have many of these but started my journey with the OG John Varvatos, which was my signature scent for almost 15 years until the bankruptcy. After that I picked up the other JVs and then 'graduated' to Kilian, which I feel has the same man of the night feel as JV, and then into luxury brands like Xerjoff and Roja and now Areej Le Dore (thanks for your recommendations here, really is the top!). But yesterday I wore Dark Rebel Rider and am always amazed at how great it is, even disregarding the price. It is better than Dark Rebel, I agree. But all JV frags I have are great and when I am in Brazil I wear almost exclusively the Artisan line, with a few other niche fragrances. With 12-15 sprays they actually last quite long and hold their own in terms of execution and creative vision as many niche brands. Top perfumer indeed.

Curious, I read that Rider wasn't a great performer. I'm loving Dark Rebel though, the smokiness really comes through on skin.
Really none of the JV frags are great performers... just overspray and reapply lol

I come from the wine tasting community and the closest I can think of is when Dugat-Py disrupted the Burgundy domain hierarchy (DRC and Leroy who are the Rojas of the industry) by using wine making methods not used for 100 years. Russian Adam = Bernard Dugat-Py! I just tried Siberian Musk today and it reminded me of the first time I sampled a Dugat-Py - almost made me shiver it was so profound..
@@jove1155 lasted all day on me with 6 sprays. Love the suede + cacao + salty nutty resins. When I am in Brazil the Artisan line up withstands 35 C and 60% humidity for 6 hours with 112-15 sprays. Also spray your clothes.
Busy year there Rams, sorry to hear about Liz’s old horse ,but damn I’m willing to bet the new release will be outstanding, excited for sure ,great job as always much appreciated man and looking forward to your views on Russian Adams new line release, some for me I feel will be kinda redundant as I got I’m thinking OG offering which will be very similar to most in these new releases ,bar one the goddam skunk offering got nothing at all in the collection so even if I hear it’s too much skank and not wearable in every social circle known to man of beast ( except Skunks obviously) I’m getting a bottle, oh yeah lol 😝 cheers buddy have a good one 🙏✌️👍

I'm not saying that lightly: Parfums d'Empire is the best niche brand in the world. In France its highly valued by fragheads only, the mainstream audience doesnt know the brand unfortunately. They dont have any buzz whatsoever and I dont know why. But its considered as the best of the best of perfumery. Corticchiatto is a master. Your Tabac Tabou has a date on it because its a millesime. Different batchs dont smell exactly the same and have their own nuances (the recipe is the same but the natural ingredients may vary, like grapes for wine).

I got to look into that 1821 sweet tobacco spirit i love honey in fragerances it calms me down my fav honey so far is killian gold knight have you tried that before ?. its got the cool mirror inside with metal box kinda tacky looking though lol .

Imagine what a shopgirl at a Guerlain shop replied me when I told her that Habit Rouge would never be the same again : she just said that Habit Rouge Dresscode was the closest version to the 1965 version ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 In my mind, I asked if she were kidding me ... what is the link between an oriental chypre like Habit Rouge 1965 and a sweet gourmand flanker like HB Dresscode (which I hated) ? Since LVMH bought Guerlain, they can't help destroying this house, even by hiring stupid and beotian sellers ...
