This song was actually a collaborative effort. The Pop Singer helped them write it, the Dazzles got them the stage, DJ Yellow did the backing track, and the whole thing was sponsored by the Frog Hoppers. It was a passion project, a symbol of friendship and solidarity between musicians.

Clarifying edit: I originally misinterpreted your comment as saying they removed the pauses from the "1 2 3!" and not completely removed the first two (slower) cues that are an extension of the full countdown. It still feels like it should be faster, but at least I know why it isn't now.
