Kev I've been listening to you ever grade 10 and it was the best decision I've ever made thanks for everything I I'm finally done with school, passed with 6 distinctions and I'm now doing my first year of Medicine I'm forever grateful 🙏🙇
Fg parallel, also known as force due to gravity is acting parallel to the displacement there there is no angle between the two. So we use 0 as our angle
This can be done in different ways :) 1. Let us imagine gravity straight down but box slides along surface. So we F as 40 x 9.8 Slope is 10m. Angle between force and direction of motion is 70 So you would have: 40 x 9.8 x 10 x cos70 Option 2: Pretend box goes straight down AND gravity straight down: So we use F as 40 x 9.8 Use trig to get veritcal length which would be 10sin20 So angle between force and direction would now be 0 as both are going straight down. Therefore: 40 x 9.8 x 10sin20 x cos0
Sir, in my curriculum we take gravity as straight down. We were told that to calculate gravity, we say Wfg = mg🔺️x cos (270° - theta) So I did that but I've got a negative answer of a (-1340,72 J) I know it's suppose to be negative because my textbook says so and now I don't know what method to use and I'm afraid I'll lose marks when I write the wrong answer
To those who keep praising Kevin I urge you to stop , I understood this topic coz of him I'm grateful but you do not have to sing praises to the man bcoz there are others out there that did not quite understand Kevin's teachings even though we did and this infuriates them seeing praises upon Kevin , you've been through this before don't put another soul through it , ps andixabenanga thank you
I really didn't understand this section, but this Playlist is helping me so much. Thank you💖
I'm so glad!

Thank you uncle Kevin. You have changed my school life💯💯
thank you for saving me before finals your videos are def the best on youtube
Thank you so much! I am happy it helped you :)
This section is helping me a lot. You make things easier for me sir thank you ❤️
2 hours before my matric final Physics paper and Im watching these videos. Kevin with the mad clutch😂😂😂😂
Night before my mock paper and here we are
😂😂😂 and the way I'm rushing... The speed is 5x😭
He's so helpful for last minutes
Did you pass?
@dolan9143 😂😂😂😂😂😂why do I feel like this question was personal ?
Thank you so much Kevin these videos are really helping
You are very welcome!
Hello Kevin just to make sure why do we multiply the length of the slide with the fg parallel? 2:44 , I don't understand?
To find the angle for cos in w=f.🔼X.cos it is determined by the direction of the force and direction of the motion
The Fnet is positive and the person is sliding down the surface. So the angle is supposed to be 180 degress.
Hii kevin
Im confused now because the forces are acting in different directions, but you used cos of 0.?
Fg parallel, also known as force due to gravity is acting parallel to the displacement there there is no angle between the two. So we use 0 as our angle
kevin: has an eraser , also kevin: scratches out thought
thank you Kevin
Pleasure!
So the angle of inclination will never affect the friction correct?
For the w = F▲XcosΘ part, the cosΘ part is not effected by the inclination of the angle.
great job
Glad it helped!
Hi Kevin❤, finding the angle to substitute always gives me hard time please explain it for me
where does 9.8 comes from
that is the effect of gravity
Why doesn't the angle going down the slope and gravity have anything to do with the friction.
Tell me why I’m studying this for my Gr 10 term 4 exams😭😭
What if you take gravity as straight down?
This can be done in different ways :)
1. Let us imagine gravity straight down but box slides along surface.
So we F as 40 x 9.8
Slope is 10m.
Angle between force and direction of motion is 70
So you would have:
40 x 9.8 x 10 x cos70
Option 2:
Pretend box goes straight down AND gravity straight down:
So we use F as 40 x 9.8
Use trig to get veritcal length which would be 10sin20
So angle between force and direction would now be 0 as both are going straight down.
Therefore:
40 x 9.8 x 10sin20 x cos0
Ohhhhhhhhhh, thank you Sir😭🙏bless

@@kevinmathscience Doesnt gravity have no influence on the work done, so shouldn't the answer be 0?
I’m getting a different answer

Ow Kelvin you are a darling to be kissed shame🤭🎉🎉
got so satisfied with KEVIN MATHS & SCIENCE, I started searching KEVIN MATHS & IT/EGD 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Kevin 👏👏
