Yeah. I've cooked with sushi rice. It's very sticky, and gelatinous. Much more-so than your typical jasmati, long grain rice.

It's not old rice, it's nurungi. The bibimbap is served in a hot stone bowl (dolsot) that cooks the bottom layer of the rice to make it crunchy, it's how it's meant to be and is actually pretty popular.
Nurungi is a diffrent meal which is a after meal for things like sundubu and hot soup bibimpap is sometimes like that because the rice when cooked hot sticks because it didn't have time for the water to completely cool

As much as love watching these videos. Brennen really needs to do research on these cultures before reviewing their restaurants. Just cuz he doesnt like something doesnt make it bad, its sometimes culturally accurate.

Korean food is often very spicy! I am a regular at a local Korean restaurant and the owner told me that she even makes her spicy dishes less spicy for non-Korean people. They love sesame oil as well, so the bulgogi was probably intended to look like that with the oil at the bottom. The rice is supposed to be sticky. It makes it much easier to grab with chopsticks and good Korean restaurants typically will serve it that way. Also, it is time for your trip to Korea!

Bibimbap is often served in a hot stone pot where the rice basically still cooks at the bottom and gets a little crunchy and stuff. And when you mix it the rice tends to get a little lumpy - its not old rice

That is very unhealthy. I’m sorry you have such a poor appetite and feel like you don’t have to eat to feel comfortable with your body. I hope you can find someone to help you and you can start recovery. I’m actually currently dealing with medical issues where one of the symptoms is unintentional weight loss. I’m losing a lot of weight really fast which is unhealthy for my body. I have to try to eat a lot but I don’t have a good appetite so watching his videos actually helps me as well. Edit: I’m sorry if I have triggered you at any point in my comment. I am not educated in how best to speak to someone who has an eating disorder.
I love how everyone's just commenting about him ripping away the laptop. Meanwhile, I'm just like freaking out over the chopsticks and the etiquette. Then again, it's a restaurant in America... rather than eating in Korea.
Also, you (to Brennen) weren't actually eating ramen. You were eating Korean ramyeon (the words look similar but if you listen to the official pronunciation, they're different), it's a spin-off of Japanese ramen, but with tons more flavor like you said. Ramen is very subtle while ramyeon is usually spicy and packs quite a punch. They're still very similar though in looks and ingredients.
the ball of rice is because the bibimbap is on a hot bowl which makes it get the rice sticky and turns into a ball as it cools down bc you didn’t mix the rice with the seafood. bibim is like smooshing/mixing kinda in english and bap means rice so that means u just mix everything

I really like this version of your series. Going in blind on what the rating is allows you to fully experience the food without any sort of bias. If you know you're going to a 1-star or a 5-star, you have certain expectations, and this method leave expectations at the door. This is more real and authentic of a review.
