I echo the comments of the many new weavers who proclaim that your videos are far and away the best around! Your teaching is clear and concise. You offer great, helpful tips. You are also a wonderfully endearing person and a joy to spend time with. I couldn’t weave without you, Leo. I wouldn’t even want to try. I live in the center of the U.S.A. I hope someday to be able to visit your lovely shop in Nova Scotia. Until that day comes, please know of my very heartfelt thanks!
It wasn’t until the last remarks when you said you were from ns that I realized I’ve been in your shop and purchased a heddle reed from you last year! It’s a lovely shop and I’m glad to discover your videos!!!
I have woven a scarf from beginning to end on my Cricket rigid heddle loom following every one of your videos. You have been wonderfully easy to follow . Thank you.
I was getting giddy watching you unfurl your scarf! Thank you so much for showing how to remove the weaving project. I look forward to seeing more videos in the future and keep up the good work!
Wish I'd watched this before I cut my first scarf off the loom last night!! MAJOR unravelling issues 😖😂. Know better now though and won't make that mistake again! Thankyou for the video and the inspiration of your beautiful scarf.
I’m a very new newbie as I have ordered a loom but not received it yet. I’ve been watching your videos and I must say, you explain things beautifully. I’m so eager to start making beautiful things. Thank you for being clear and using simple terminology
Your videos are so helpful because you take your time so I was able to see you do something over and over which I really need to see in order to form muscle memory. Thank you.
I wonder if you might consider making a video on how you wet finish your scarf. Also, do you have any special ways you trim the fringe. Do you ever use a fringe winder ? Absolutely love your videos !!!!
I am new to weaving. I have a 5" Mirrix for bracelets and have been wanting to try hand towels and scarves. Your videos for beginners have convinced me to purchase a 15" cricket and give it a go... ty so much for freely sharing your knowledge! i will be looking through your older videos and have notifications turned on for the new ones! Much love and light! Cheryl
I am a beginner weaver and have watched a lot of You Tube videos. Your videos surpass others by far and I hope that you will continue to share more weaving tips. Should I ever find myself in Nova Scotia (I live on the Central Coast of California), I will look up your shop. Thanks so much!
I was wondering if you could walk us through the planning process of a project. For example, if you wanted to make a scarf with 2 colors with a pattern of some kind, how would you calculate and plan, etc. Is there a method to it? Do you keep a chart or a list to keep things organized? Thank you so much for these videos. I don't have a loom yet because I can't afford it right now but I am very excited about trying it and your videos are a delight. =)
Thank you so much for your videos. I took delivery of my 18inch heddle loom about a week ago. A birthday gift from my family and my Coronavirus ‘lockdown’ project! I found your videos the best to follow and love the little extra bits of info. Please do more. Looking forward to hemming edge one. Would like to know how to change yarns during weaving as well. Thanks again. Have been to Fisherman’s Cove many years ago, probably long before you started weaving! Live in the UK now. Thanks again.
I watched the end of this video after watching a knitting video on acrylic yarn. From what I learned in that video, warm water wouldn't get acrylic yarn hot enough to set it. For blocking knitted acrylic pieces, steam is needed. The steam melts the acrylic slightly, and it sets when it cools. But it has to be blocked in the desired shape on the first try. Once it cools and sets, that's it. I'm looking forward to your future videos. I acquired a Kromski Harp Forte 32" rigid heddle loom a while back. I put an initial warp on it, did a little practice weaving, then got sidetracked on other hobbies. UA-cam keeps trying to find more hobbies for me than I could possibly have time for. I tend to cycle through them, focusing on one or two at a time. I've cycled back around to weaving and kitting at the moment.
Thank you so much for another very clear video. Beautiful colors on the scarf. Would it be possible for you to explain ‘wet finishing’? Is it the same principle as soaking and blocking a knitted project?
Lovely to watch and listen! I wish I had found you earlier. Your method of removal of the projects is going to be my go to! I'm about to begin my second project, so thanks for your gentle tutelage!🥰 I would love to know the yarn and pattern!
Wonderful video. I used your video on how to warp a rigid heddle loom to do my first warp (I am a weaving newbie). Have you done a video about how to get nice, consistent selvages?
Hello - your colors and pattern are beautiful. Did you have a pattern in mind as you wove or did you just create it while you worked? Thanks for the great video.
Quelle est la taille de ce métier à tisser s'il te plait ?? et quelle est le type de fibre as tu utilisée pour ce projet ??? c'est tellement joli ces coloris et la texture me plaisent !! Merci de me dire !!!
If the project is made from natural fibres ,like wool, I will do a wet finish and then trim them off. For synthetic fibres, I just trim them off once the project is off the loom. ☺️
i love the expert's tip about cutting only a few of the warp threads as you go along. just makes sense.
As a newbie, I love your videos and the clear way you explain everything. That scarf made from sock yarn is absolutely gorgeous x
Thank you for talking us through all of the steps. You definitely give the most thorough and easy to understand tutorials. 🙏🏼

Your videos are the best! I'm dying to see the hem stitch as I'm planning to make a table runner that would be great with a finished edge.
Ah this was so helpful! Nice to see someone who loves chromatic color as much as I do! :D

Beautiful work. What size is your loom?
Thank you. Very helpful.
What size dent do you use for sock yarn? I have a lot of Merino super-wash I’d love to make some scarves.
Gorgeous!
What dent did you use for the sock yarn scarf?
Why a Cricket loom rather the a Ashford? Just wondering
Fantastic!
what kind of yarns do you use :) Im new at this. Just bought a loom :)
Do you just cut off the ends in the middle of the scarf ?
If the project is made from natural fibres ,like wool, I will do a wet finish and then trim them off. For synthetic fibres, I just trim them off once the project is off the loom. ☺️
What is the size of this loom?
