Well, I guess if someone feels important slumming with caricatures of over-the-hill alcoholic clowns that's their business. But does it really, actually help to close their eyes when they're doin' the dirty and fantasize? Nawwwwww... it's mindless trash on trash time, so just roll like a couple of pigs. Nothing happened to me of what this song is about, but as soon as it starts I find myself crying. Abandonment syndrome affects everyone, it doesn't matter if the parents leave without any fault.

Holy Fuck..... I am completely floored. I searched for a live version of this song and this is the first thing I seen. I thought to myself for a second...."no.... we don't want a 2011 recording. We want a recording from 30 years ago where they probably sound really good." But I clicked on this video anyway out of curiosity. WELL I DOUBT THE SINGER SOUNDS MUCH BETTER THAN HE ALREADY DOES HERE. PLUS THIS IS SO UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. I THINK HIS AGE AND ALL THE MILEAGE YOU CAN SEE ON HIS BODY AND IN HIS FACE REALLY ADDS THAT MUCH MORE TO THE LYRICS. Super impressed. Can't stand their other songs much. But this song.................................................. my god.

As a dad, this song makes me doubt myself when I had to work over the road, and shit came up while I was gone. Can't lie, this song makes me squirt a few tears. I guess as a dude that cares, you do the best you can with what you have. I guess those of us that weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouths, gotta do what they gotta do to make it in this world.
