- Craig Gruber, who sadly passed away in 2015, was in the Mark 1 lineup of Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW in 1975. He chats about the writing and recording of Sixteenth Century Greensleeves.
Great bass work on the first Rainbow album, Rock In Peace Craig Gruber !
Craig Gruber RIP...Nice guy....
Yo soy hetero cómo la tarde
I used to work with Craig in Jacksonville Fl
And then Craig apparently replaced Geezer Butler in Black Sabbath during the writing sessions for the "Heaven and Hell" album! But then Geezer returned, and they threw out Craig's bass-lines and Geezer played from scratch!
I'd loved to have heard what Craig's versions sounded like?
🤘🏻
Craig Gruber has a lot to do with why I’ve debated which Rainbow album is my favorite. It’s between the debut and Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll for me. I love Bob Daisley but Craig just set the groove so well and Greensleeves is one of the best examples. I’m still having a hard time figuring out the bass part at the end of the song
where is the full interview with Craig?
Dio would be proud of the vocal performance and the horns! Ritchie, I have a pair of pliers to cut those string ends. It drives my OCD nuts! :)
Great song and great album but performed terribly here as compared to the Dio version.
Ah those live versions with Dio!!!!!
Blackmore disrespected Rainbow's history by doing that cover band. Ronnie Romero has no charm, he sings without soul.
Poor Craig didn't last long under Ritchie. No one does.
@@mark.724 Love Dio but he should have been more open. The band was losing money and if they didn’t start making a profit it could not of continued.
@@trebleface7835Dio would never sell his soul for money. Never!
