She was one of the greatest of all time! From her Eboli in the 70s to her Turandot just at Covent Garden shortly before she died, miss her so much, RIP.
Really great! Her intelligent, exact and expressive singing is remarkable. This and Leonie Rysaneks Kostelnicka will never be forgotten. in 2006 or 2007 I saw Elizabeth as Faerberin in Frankfurt, she was the best I heard in this role. Thank You, Elizabeth
She can sing! I saw 2/3 of her Lady Macbeth at the Met in 1988 [the last part was cencelled after a suicide in the auditorium in the 2nd interval - talk about drama!]
Still one of the great operatic moments of the 20th century. And by one of the greatest voices of the last 40 years - La Connell. What a performance!
Let's say it. One of the greatest and most versatile singers of all times!

Fantastic!
One of her greatest roles which I saw her perform at The Sydney Opera House several times.

What a fabulous artist. RIP what a wonderful voice.
I saw her do Turandot in Cardiff. Fabulous
This is unbelievable... The vibrato is so balanced and efortless
brava, diva!!! it's a shame she isn't brought back to the major houses consistently
This great voice has been stilled. She passed away today (2/18/2012). RIP

@jataveda1 I did too in Sydney in 1974...EC just leaves one speechless what a grand singer and role model
Wow! Superb!!
this is what happens when a true dramatic soprano takes on this part, rather than a pushed up lyric mezzo…
and she can "give face"!! :)
do you have the entire joint concert with Spyres?
What a fabulous singer she was. I still feel Pauline Tinsley was the best in this scene, but EC isn't far behind.
