A truly terrific performance from a singer too fastly forgotten from the major opera houses she attempted in her golden years. So much to give, so much lost.

Classy, classy singing - total command of the voice - note it is in one piece from top to bottom - no horrid gear changes. Every singer who wants to learn how to sing needs to understand what she is doing technically - and what kept the voice in fantastic condition. She went too soon

She is truly a rare operatic phenomenon! Name me any 65 year old soprano who could even approach this aria, let alone deliver it with such subtle interpretive power and stunning vocal security. OK I'll make it easier: name me one half her age who can do it. Anyone who can maintain a fresh singing voice in this condition at her age, really does know how to sing. What a lesson in vocal health Connell provides!
