By the way Jamel, My mother is from Ireland, In the scene it's called keening, It's kind of how they sang at funerals and things like that. Just so you know. Love you brother
The love of my life lives in limerick and sadly I'll probably never see her again . The Cranberries will always pulls my heart strings for the rest of my life . I will always love you Lynn !
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh there it is.... that Limerick accent. I love it when artists sing in their natural accent. So many artists over the decades sang with an "American" sound rather than their own and then when you hear them do interviews or whatever it's quite a shock. RIP Delores, you will always be missed and the world will always be sadder without your heaven sent voice.
It seems to me that heavy accents can stay within songs. The Dubliners were the same. But for a lot of songs, depending on the song and rhythm, the vowels can get stretched changing the character of the consonants losing the accent.. Some British can sound vaguely American. Not to say that some bands influenced by US artist don't style themselves to sound American.
Easily in my top 25 favorite songs and I am a 51 year old man. Her voice killed it. She was a baby and tried out for this band. They told her to write something and come back. This was what she wrote. Now this band brought it together but she is an angel in a choir. Love.
Their voices, music and rhythm are like the falling rain, at first tenderly , then it becomes the raging storm by the messages of their songs…. and so universal ! It’s such a poetry of different emotions! Such unique talents , the Cranberries…I miss them!
My wife of 30 years passed away in January 2021 and this was one of her favorite bands so hearing this song is both happy and sad as it brings back memories of her. I believe this was the song that brought them into the limelight.
I used to listen to them a lot when I was a teenager back in the 90s. I would always try to sing the Keening parts too. My poor parents had their bedroom next to mine, I'm sure it was very unpleasant.🤣
No, no video could do the song or her voice justice. Dang, this really takes me back to my senior year and introduction to adulthood, finding out who I really am and finding the love of my life. I can remember, not having cable TV, so no MTV. I just fell in absolute love with her voice. I imagined a real beauty and I was correct. She's one of my favorite female vocalists, along with the Wilson sisters from Heart. I don't even know why I'm differentiating here, the three of them are probably my favorite vocalists, period. Such a tragedy that such an angelic voice was taken from us far too soon.
After 70's and 80's rock that I grew up, with this style of Alternative type music was the next step in my musical evolution...Some great over-looked music from the 90's.
Hello Sir, Thank you for reacting to Cranberries and Delores' amazing voice. She had such a unique and mesmerizing voice. I really liked the To the Faithful Departed album with I Am Still Remembering as a deep cut gem.
I go back and forth on my favorite Cranberries album between To The Faithful Departed and No Need To Argue. For me, they did some of their best songwriting on those 2 albums. Dolores' voice is amazing no matter what though. As the old cliche goes, she could sing me the phone book!
I really miss her music. They came up to popularity while I was a teen. I just "knew" that I'd have a lifetime of cool songs coming from her. But I am thankful for what she did give the world in her young life.
Gahhh thanks for doing this one Jamel! It’s a masterpiece and makes me cryyyyyy! As soon as I hear that intro and her beautiful hum I get chills. The lyrics are too real. So much to love! RIP Dolores a voice like no other!
Such a fantastic song and band. I remember when it first came out and was all over the radio and we used to substitute “did you have to let it linger” with “did you have to smell your finger”
Extremely grateful you're persisting, brother, against all the discouraging actions of copyright holders or whoever. It's gotta be hard, but we hold out hope for you to hold on, triumph, and get through. Thank, you, Jamel.
Interesting that you reacted to this song today, or at least posted it today. I heard it on the way to work this morning on Sirus XM. It was a little sad to listen to may she RIP. It also took me back to an interesting time in my life when this song came out. This song is so calming in some way despite the lyrics describing a negative situation. Like many other comments in here another great Cranberries song that really proclaims her voice is the song “Ode to my Family”.
This was my heartbreak song in the 90s. It played constantly on MTV. I still brace myself a little before listening to it all these years later. Her voice is so special and so missed.
I was just leaving work and heard on the radio Delores died. I pulled over and cried a bit. Then drove to a bar and played Cranberries songs. Everyone at the tavern was bummed when they heard. She was so very loved by millions i think😢❤️❤️❤️. But I'm happy to have been here to hear it.
She is one of my favorite female singers of all time. She is the voice of my college years in the city, and every time I hear The Cranberries I can close my eyes and I'm back in Chicago in the 90s, on a fall evening, listening to Dolores with a drink and a cigarette. Also, do more Depeche Mode!
I see so many videos and people commenting on Dolores beautiful voice. I love her voice too, but she’s more than that. She played a major part in writing this song, and writing songs for the band. She’s not just a singer, she’s a songstress, a storyteller, a balladeer, a comfort to so many people around the world. Her and the cranberries, one of the most beautiful bands in my own personal world.
Also, country music had its roots in Irish and Scottish (and some English) settlers bringing over their traditional folk songs. From there you get bluegrass, and from there you get country. The chord progressions end up being fairly similar across all of those musical groupings. Blues would also be related just based on chord structure as well.
I still can't believe she's gone. My wife was a big Cranberries fan and she naturally turned me into a fan as well. I bought my wife one of Delores' solo-effort CD's for Christmas several years apart. The world lost an angel when she passed away waaaaaaay too early.
This song takes me back to some very fond memories. This song gives me such a relaxed and peaceful feeling, such a beautiful song and a phenomenal voice. Grand is the perfect word. 🥰
Very Well Put...That was a Great Reaction!! 😭😭 My Heart's Broken from the Loss of Dolores!! 💔💔 She was AMAZING and is Sorely Missed!! RIP our ANGEL!! ❤️
I was devastated when i heard the news she passed away, it hit me hard. Im not one to usually get upset at a " celebrity's " death, but this one rocked me. I grew up with The Cranberries, even saw them live, she was such a powerhouse vocalist, and she was a tiny woman, but had one hell of a voice. I still get sad when i hear her singing, but love her voice so much. RIP Delores.
This is nostalgia in my ears. Every time I hear that intro it takes me back to when I would hear this on the radio. I am grateful for a mother that introduced me to so many different artists and influenced my love for music in general
Gorgeous voice. This song gives me shivers and takes me on a journey…musically, lyrically, emotionally. Beautiful song. And the nostalgia of my early teens.
The song is from the early 90s but I assume the video was uploaded 13 years ago. This is one of my faves along with Ode to my Family. Def check that out
This really takes me back to my senior year of undergrad and jamming to the Cranberries with a buddy I had a big crush on. He tragically ended up passing away from cancer 12 years later. RIP Izzy
Thanks Jamel. I loved the Cranberries. This has that marching drum beat (if thats what it's called) and the bass is definitely providing more rhythm, there's the effects that elevate it. Perfect intrusions of lead guitar. A great arrangement and mood
Hey bro! Just wanted to say how much I enjoy watching your videos! Your a cool dude and more importantly, a good human being! And you really get into the music, your a true music fan, of all types!
Not a lot of songs get to me, but this goes to the sinew and through the bone, piercing heart and soul. The lyrics are touching and heartfelt, then you add the orchestration and her vocals, then the chorus with her soaring background vocals. The song is beyond surreal and sublime.
The moment that I heard "Dreams" on the radio, which was their first song, I fell in love with her voice. I went out the next day and bought the album. Then I heard "Linger" and I was a fool for Delores. She had me wrapped around her finger.
Thanks for doing the cranberries Jamel. Dolores went to school with my brother Liam. Rest in peace Dolores my fellow Limerick woman. 🙏
I have been to Limerick and Durty Nellie's! I left the patch of my fire department there!
Great win last weekend !
God-bless you..
This was the song that introduced me to the Cranberries. What a wondeful voice lost way too soon.
Same but from the movie Click w Adam Sandler, it was his Son’s wedding song or somethin
"Ode to My Family" was another hit for them!
They had a lot of hits and there 1st 2 albums were filled with amazing songs if I remember correctly. It's been years since I listened
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh there it is.... that Limerick accent. I love it when artists sing in their natural accent. So many artists over the decades sang with an "American" sound rather than their own and then when you hear them do interviews or whatever it's quite a shock. Totally agree.

Not American, it's called Mid Atlantic ...Glad she didn't use that accent..
Easily in my top 25 favorite songs and I am a 51 year old man. Her voice killed it. She was a baby and tried out for this band. They told her to write something and come back. This was what she wrote. Now this band brought it together but she is an angel in a choir. Love.

by the messages of their songs…. and so universal ! It’s such a poetry of different emotions!
Such unique talents , the Cranberries…I miss them!
I miss when bands wrote lyrics that really meant something like Zombie did.
My wife of 30 years passed away in January 2021 and this was one of her favorite bands so hearing this song is both happy and sad as it brings back memories of her. I believe this was the song that brought them into the limelight.
Man that’s so sad. Wish you the best.
May God be with you my friend.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The voice, the strings, all of it. This takes be back to Senior year in college.
Probably my favorite Cranberries song? Makes me choke up and cry a little, it’s beautiful and organized so well
I love the Cranberries! Such a touch of class all the way!
One of the best songs of the 90s.
Ever

This whole album is a killer, I listened to it for weeks - my wife would laugh at me when I tried to sing her "keening:" parts.
I used to listen to them a lot when I was a teenager back in the 90s. I would always try to sing the Keening parts too. My poor parents had their bedroom next to mine, I'm sure it was very unpleasant.🤣
I was lucky enough to see the Cranberries in concert. Delores was amazing live! R.I.P.
Me too, Peace
"Ode to My Family" is probably my favorite song of theirs and the music video is one of the best of the 90's imo.
No, no video could do the song or her voice justice. Dang, this really takes me back to my senior year and introduction to adulthood, finding out who I really am and finding the love of my life. AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND GIFTED YOUNG LADY...TAKEN TOO TOO TOO YOUNG FROM THE WORLD....REMARKABLE YOUNG LADY....RIP DOLORES... YOU ARE LOVED...
After 70's and 80's rock that I grew up, with this style of Alternative type music was the next step in my musical evolution...Some great over-looked music from the 90's.
Absolutely adore her voice! Thank you for reacting to The Cranberries! 😽💋🎶
Music was the best back then... hanging out at Tower Records on a rainy day.
I love her voice and this song from the first time that I heard it. 😁
Love the Cranberries! So glad you're reacting to more of their music, Jamel.
Such a powerful song. That orchestra s fantastic! Thanks Jamel.
Goosebumps everytime
I love the sound of Irish women singing voices they are very Angelic

One of the great timeless songs of the 90s. Her voice, the strings, the arrangement, it’s just so perfect. RIP Dolores.
Voice of a angel! Rest In Peace Deloris your music helped me thru some tough times as a young man felt it in my soul thank you!
My favorite by the Cranberries ❤️
I really miss her music. They came up to popularity while I was a teen. I just "knew" that I'd have a lifetime of cool songs coming from her. But I am thankful for what she did give the world in her young life.
This is it. One of my TOP 10 songs of all time.
Always loved this song! is so beautiful, emotional and sung in her lovely accent - a true gem from the 90's
LOVE THIS SONG!
-San Francisco fan girl
i love this song…it’s always on my road trip playlist
RIP Dolores. Voice of an angel
Oh man, how I miss every single thing about the 90’s! Even and especially myself 💞
I looooove her, I could listen to the Cranberries all day.
Gahhh thanks for doing this one Jamel! It’s a masterpiece and makes me cryyyyyy! As soon as I hear that intro and her beautiful hum I get chills. The lyrics are too real. So much to love! RIP Dolores a voice like no other!

My favourite Cranberries song is "No Need To Argue". Such a beautiful, haunting song.
LOVE the Cranberries! Great alternative 90s! They don't have a bad song! Awesome!

Jamel ..you have a very good taste of music. Greetings from north Africa
Dolores was so talented. RIP 🙏
My favourite female singer, Dolores O'Riordan, RIP, listen to "Promises" or "Ridiculous Thoughts":) (live - fantastic!)
This is a top 5 song of the 90s for me, along with Fields of Gold, Losing My Religion, Interstate Love Song, and Lightning Crashes.
Great song list (personally, I like Sting's Shape of My Heart better than Fields of Gold, but still a good song)
F1rst!!!! Wow. This is a blast from the early 90s. Zowey! Such a new sound for the time; at least it felt like a new sound.
Jamel, your pronunciation of Depeche Mode was exactly right!
This was my heartbreak song in the 90s. It played constantly on MTV. I still brace myself a little before listening to it all these years later. Her voice is so special and so missed.
Same

We called it a shoe string. Such a beautiful dreamy voice! RIP Dolores!
Jamal, your analysis of this song has me in tears. I have been that fool, but those days are gone. Thanks for helping see I was not the only one.
She is one of my favorite female singers of all time. She is the voice of my college years in the city, and every time I hear The Cranberries I can close my eyes and I'm back in Chicago in the 90s, on a fall evening, listening to Dolores with a drink and a cigarette.

This is my FAVORITE song from them. This song was the reason I bought the tape to play in my car all those years ago. ❤️
Love the Cranberrys may she R.I.P.
Thanks for listening to my favorite Band!🥰🥰🥰🙏 Your reaction to it is fun to watch!☺😊

This is my all time fave of the Cranberries. A truly gorgeous song by a beautiful lady. We all miss you Dolores 😢

Dude, your videos give me such joy! Thanks so much for listening to such a wide range of music and having such a positive response to the variety
This is an all timer. Incredible songwriting and vocals.
Delores had a beautiful voice - kind of ethereal. Plus her Irish accent is just the right spice to make it perfect.
Well said🙏🏻🎶💙
This song always tore my teenage soul up!
Simply stunning in every way
I love the cranberries! The lead singer's voice is just so incredible. I love watching your reactions
This song takes me back to some very fond memories. This song gives me such a relaxed and peaceful feeling, such a beautiful song and a phenomenal voice. Grand is the perfect word. 🥰
Jamel she does a beautiful duet of Ave Maria with Pavarotti.
Thanks Jamel ,
much appreciated 🙏,
RIP Dolores 😔
Very Well Put...That was a Great Reaction!! 😭😭 My Heart's Broken from the Loss of Dolores!! 💔💔 She was AMAZING and is Sorely Missed!! RIP our ANGEL!! ❤️

It was so unexpected too. Plus the way she died being so odd made it even more shocking & sad.
And the nostalgia of my early teens.
love the cranberries, such a beautiful and unique voice 💚🎧🎶
When You’re Gone is also one of my favorites from them.
You nailed it! I have a loved one going through it right now. Thanks for having the meaning of the lyrics down to a T!
She had a very haunting voice. Smooth and pure.
One of my fav songs. Reminds me of my carefree 20’s new love with my husband. Late nights ! Good times. Music 🎶 does that to us.
The song is from the early 90s but I assume the video was uploaded 13 years ago. This is one of my faves along with Ode to my Family. Def check that out
“Ode to my family” by the Cranberries ,”When Youre gone” or “No need to argue” all showcase Dolores stunning vocals , timeless, RIP Dolores 🥰
This really takes me back to my senior year of undergrad and jamming to the Cranberries with a buddy I had a big crush on. He tragically ended up passing away from cancer 12 years later. RIP Izzy
Thanks Jamel for preserving the legacy of Dolores and the Cranberries
She had such an iconic original voice for sure. Such a wonderful artist who passed much too early, sadly. thanks for sharing Jamel :)
Delores' voice was so amazing and she will aways be missed by those who loved her and her talents!
Thanks Jamel. I loved the Cranberries. This has that marching drum beat (if thats what it's called) and the bass is definitely providing more rhythm, there's the effects that elevate it. Perfect intrusions of lead guitar. A great arrangement and mood

Scientifically, one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Has an effect on me every time I've ever heard it
She is missed and mourned by me every day. This song, this voice, this woman is an angel from heaven,
This is my favorite Cranberries song. She had an amazing voice. So sad that she passed away so young.
A once in a lifetime singer. RIP our beautiful Dolores 🇮🇪☘️❤️
This is the song that made me love the band
Irish singers always have such heartfelt voices.
I always get goosebumps when I hear her voice. Linger, ode to my family etc. so good 😊
I still get emotional when i hear her beautiful voice!
This was basically my anthem back in the day.
Always loved this song. ❤
Really takes you back to the 90's love it! Rip Delores!

Thank you Jamal! I’ve been working a lot of hours and have missed so many videos, but I’m trying to catch up. Love your channel Brother.
Another iconic Irish female led group are The Corrs, you should react to their song ‘Runaway’ 👍…….if UA-cam will let you 😂
YOU ARE KILLING IT!! Bringing me back again.. Dolores voice makes you feel emotion we have all been fools for love at one time or another..
