Thanks for tuning in! Sorry if it was a bit of a ramble today 😝. Let me know if there was a project that caught your eye or if you want to know more about any of the patterns or yarn!

I just want you to know that I absolutely love ❤ your podcasts. You had come up as a recommended podcast a few months ago and after watching that one I just had to go back and watch all of your previous ones. I also love that you are not afraid to talk a bit about your personal life. I can relate to some things in particular even though I am now 68 years old. I also love that you honor and respect your country's heritage. Your designs are lovely and I plan to make at least one of them soon. I hope you are well and safe. Keep the videos coming.

new here thanks ash and eve :)... everything you've finished or working on is stunning!! I like having both written and charted, as sometimes i just dont have the brain power to follow the chart so having the written instructions to fall back on is great.

The shawl's coming together really quickly! Helps that it's the smaller version lol, although now I'm knitting it I wish I'd asked for two skeins to make the bigger one!

Hi Kat! Happy to see a new podcast from you today😄. I prefer a chart if the lace work is too complicated… I hope you will hit 1k by the next podcast,💪💪 go girl! Lastly, happy Easter to you and family too 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thanks Julia! Oh nice to know you like charts, those have always been there for this pattern so you shouldn't have a problem with it if you want to make it. Happy Easter!

Hey Kat. My first experience with a chart was your Queen of Spades pattern. It did not put me off I actually enjoyed it. Whilst I do like patterns that give you both options I understand that takes more time to write. I dusted off my magnetic board and rulers and away I went. The Jigsaw shawl and the yarn are lovely. I look forward to the release 😊

Ahhh yay, glad I created a new chart knitter 😄. One of us! One of us! 🤣 Given everyone's feedback though I'm adding the written instructions to the shawl now, it's nice to have both options so more people can knit it (and to be honest as I was knitting it myself I sort've found myself wanting them 🤫)

Hey Kat, I prefer written pattern for a single colour or lace and chart for colour work. My main preference when I choose a pattern is having the two options :)

Oh great, good to know! Yep based on everyone's feedback I'm going to have both in the new version of the pattern 😊

Hi Katrina, I love that you are writing your patterns for Australian yarns, as an Aussie advanced beginner knitter and crocheter it can sometimes be difficult to choose a yarn that is an appropriate substitute that's available in Australia. I have never used a chart but with such a beautiful pattern would be prepared to try, it might make it easier while learning to have the written pattern available too? Wishing you a Happy Easter and hoping you stay safe and well. 🐇🐇

Thanks so much Sarah, hope your Easter was great! Yep I've decided to add the written instructions for the shawl - a bunch of people said they'd appreciate them, and if the written instructions are there to compare against it'll be a nice way for people to learn how to read charts too 😊. Would you be interested if I made a video around chart reading?

    • @sarahgregory6014
      @sarahgregory6014 2 роки тому

@@OliphantKat Yes. I would be very interested in a video about how to read a chart. I had a lovely Easter in which I got to do lots of crafting and got to spend time with some family and friends that don't live close by and caught up with some crafting buddies as well. Hope your Easter was as relaxed and rejuvenating as mine.

I love watching this video ❤️ So many lovely FOs! Also sorry about the pregnancy loss 😢 and I’m glad you’re doing amazing things with the charity knitting - the little knits are so adorable! I’m sure the families that receive them will so appreciate it. My first video is also one with the most views and it’s so embarrassing 🤣🤣🤣 Such terrible quality and I was so awkward. I feel you gurl 😆

Hi Kat, I'll try again to write this comment for some reason the other comment I nearly finished
vanished, I had to stop writing
so I left utube and came back a bit later but the message was gone,
I did see your channel awhile ago I had a look but it said definitely not Nanna knitting,
so I didn't go any further,
as I am 72 years old I thought your channel would not suit me,.
but I came across it again and decided to have another look,
And I'm so glad i did.
I have subscribe and rang the bell, hopefully you will get your 1,000 subscribers by your 1st year.
I do not follow any social media
only utube for knitting and cross stitch, I only subscribe to a few channels as it's all I handle as I haven't been well,
I would just like to say that I loved your video and will go back and watch the others another time.
I had a look at the Raverly channel and it was fantastic,
You have done a wonderful job
Compiling, researching, organizing and so much time and effort, has been put into it, thank you so much because I saw so many knitting patterns
that I love, I haven't been able to do much due to my arthritis and
osteo arthritis, but this gave me
a warm glow of hope that I am going to try and start on something when I finish the garment I'm knitting.
I loved the top you finished knitting and designing it looks fantastic, you are certainly a very well organized articulate and creative designer.
I did love that Loop design that was on your list I thought that was quirky and innovative, so many ideas in one garment wonderful,
We are all young at ❤️ heart
Looking forward to your next video, Sarah from Melbourne
We just moved back here from NSW, to be near our family,
Take care and stay well, 🥰🤗

Hi Sarah, sorry it took me so long to reply. Thanks for leaving such a thoughtful comment. I'm sorry if my tag line threw you off - I never thought about the fact that I might chase away any actual nannas! But you're definitely welcome here 🥰 I hope you're well and you get to do some more knitting soon, and that the move went well! Definitely drop a line if you ever need help with anything or just someone to bounce ideas off, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos 😊.
