Brandon I remember explaining to a neurologist that to my 80+ year old Dad the day of the week didn't matter..He did chores and milked his cows twice a day EVERY day 365 days a year...NO holidays, NO vacations..that was our Farm Life. We actually had a big variety of animals too: dairy cows, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, ponies, ducks, geese, chickens, and guineas. That is why I love yours and Steph's channels. All those memories! You just keep making them with your kids too!!!

The same with my 87 year old dad, still fixing the window cranks on the porch. Driving to get groceries not far and can tell me the difference in price or how his bear claw pastry is 1/4 if the size and cost the same. Shrinkflation. The pcp is like why are you not sure of the day, why did you second guess. My dad looks at him and said I told my daughter the date and time if my appointment yesterday because she has so much going on trying g to handle 2 house holds. Doc in my father's world the. Exact moment of each day does not matter. He remembers appts and when the family is getting together, what is important to him.
I don't care when anybody says I think it's awesome to watch you feed and take care of animals and you take care of your family. Some of us don't have that kind of luxury. It would be awesome to run a farm. If you never did your now, you'll know how other people run their farms and it's good learning. Also

Braley is such a strong little farm girl. Always wants to try and be part of everything. So cute.
Try using adult underpads under the chicks rather than puppy pads. They're cheaper, bigger, and more absorbant! Just an FYI....I used them for puppy pads and they worked so much better.

I was wondering if you put a cheap plastic shower curtain under the brooders if that would protect those floors. I can help but thinking the chickens poop etc..., will eventually damage it.

You must have a miserable existence if your spending time to watch then coomment on something you claim not to like. Brandon you do you and just block the hateful people. Listen people if you do not like what he records "LEAVE" nicely, politely no one wants you to leave but, there is so many other channels that will show you the same thing. Different time different animals. He shares the animals, the farm and the kids. He shares the good the bad and the ugly he said. This is what this channel is the life of the EDDY FARM and I'm so excited for the building of his barn but that house OMG a new house :) Now be nice everyone the family just wants to not have so many P-Pat's.

What you have it’s a condensation problem. The floor gets humid from the soil under it. The pee pad tops the condensation and the water gets trapped and accumulates under the pee pad! Raise the structure enough to have good airflow under the floor and that should cure your problem.

On the chick brooders, put some bracing between your legs (on the inside) about 6 inches off the floor. Then you can cut a piece of plywood to sit on top of the bracing. This will catch the poo, water and food as well as make your legs more sturdy. You can then just sweep it all off into a bucket or dustpan. Even when you do get the flooring in you don’t want that stuff falling on the floor and staining it.

You can minimize or eliminate the smell by using First Saturday Lime in all areas the chickens are housed
She is old enough to be off the bottle.. it takes time. She probably was pulled off her mom when she was taken to the sale.
Everyone has different stages to pull calves. Sometimes it depends on how much the calf has pulled down the cow. Need to put her in a pin by herself so she can go to feed and water until she gets use to everyone and the place..
Right now everything is so new to her. People dont realize the stress they go thru when taken to the sale and a new place.

Brandon I got to to thinking I remember when I had chickens I used visqueen (plastic) if you use the visqueen it's reusable and it's a thicker grade than regular plastic & reusable in the garden 😊

I’d run the linoleum up the wall a couple of feet. Or get the plastic panels like what they use in restaurants kitchens. That way you can clean easily with a mop and bucket.

Goals are NOT SUPPOSED to eat chicken feed.. goats, cows, horses...any animal that is a Ruman( meaning they chew their cud ) can bloat to death. Chicken food does not contain the ingredients that Rumans need to chew their cud. Hope this is information you can use.
