I understood where Piper was coming from but it was very unrealistic evil would eventually come for them if not for their powers then for their book of shadows. Also, I’m with Phoebe they need to at least get revenge for Prue, that alone would make not ever stop until we got him.
It's very much understandable. Being charmed owed her big time. Her and her sisters. All the innocents and good they've done their part for and nobody's satisfied with their sacrifices and their grace. Patty abd Penny wanted them to go to their graves fighting and fighting demons over and over, and that was more stressful than giving up all the time for a normal life. It may have given her so much, but iy still took everything from her. It took away Prue, Andy, Melinda, Patty, pushed her father out the door, half her state of mind, and she's even died multiple times. She's had to deal with a lot, whereas other witch families and covens don't even bother to aid or pull in their own weight when it comes to fighting evil. The Halliwells aren't the only witch family in the world, and a lot of people from the Magic World didn't even bother to put up a fight for their own safety because they wasted their own abilities forcing the Charmed Ones to use theirs. This is why Prue originally didn't want to have kids or become a mom. It was too much for her. Sure being a witch is a blessing, but making hard decisions and sacrifices, (If that means giving up your powers fir a normal life) and put yourself first for a change and build a future without all the evil challenges is an even better blessing. Love the show and Piper, I do, but she shouldn't have had to wait until she was in her 30s to finally feel a shred of peace
Well stated especially which is kind of what her character expresses. It’s that wonderful thing called Destiny. And all of the sisters received the greatest gift of all, the gift of a normal childhood. Their Ancestors did not have that luxury, something that must be honored and remembered. The Charmed Ones longing for ‘normalcy’ is natural, as mortals but, they were never really ‘mortal’. This is their new ‘normal’. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter.
Reflecting upon your comment again, it was Penny and Patty that did the fighting to THEIR graves. Remember, they bound the original three girls powers due to the warlock who was after Patty. Prue, Piper and Phoebe (in vitro) had their powers. It was not explained whether or not the Littles were aware of demons but, the older P's gave them the greatest gift of allll, something that they allude to at times. Being Charmed is huge responsibility. They showed how it could be done after having just been ordinary mortals. Think about it, they had the innocence of protection via Grams with the childhood angst of, 'she's just being overbearing and overprotective '.
@rogueryder3285 Well, Piper's Feelings. And her wishes are understandable. And It's true that Piper and her sisters no one wanted to help them fight evil. Including The Callaway Family along with The Montana Family. And The Elders believed that they had the right to tell the sisters how to manage their abilities. And they interfered in their personal lives, disposing of their fate as they wanted but, it's true that Piper quickly forgot that if she and her sisters stop being Witches then evil will easily win. Prudence. Piper. And Phoebe has already been lost because of Rex. And because of Hannah their abilities. Therefore, if Piper. Paige. And Phoebe being left without their abilities again will only make them completely vulnerable. And defenseless for Warlocks. For Demons. And for the Evil Witches.
'I just hope we don't end up where she did'..This scene hits different now Prue's actress is really dead. It's alleged that Prue's character was made redundant by (possibly) the actress playing Phoebe who may/may not have threatened legal action. Hope the set for such an old but amazing show wasn't that toxic but who knows. RIP Shannen Doherty.
The way they wrote Piper in this season is ridiculous. From giving up to overfighting demons to giving up again and so on and so forth. Absurd behaviour for a stable character right her
I think Piper has always "fought" against being a witch from the beginning. When Prue was around, she could deal with it a little better but when she died, I think that was the last straw for her and wanted a normal life more than ever.
I think at the core, Piper always want normal life and still has hard/slow time to adjust to change. Her overfighting is out of her fear, for safety, and to have normal life, not because she wants to fight. It's the same way people stressing out about tests : at first try to avoid, then at some point, learning right before the test out of fear/panick. Basically, she has hard time to cope and balance things out.
Well, season 4 is all about "adjusting," adjusting to Prue's death, Piper trying to learn to be the older sister, adjusting to Paige's presence, adjusting to the New "Power of Three," and adjusting to Cole's new role, identity, and powers towards Phoebe, and the Family. So it's a lot to juggle. And Piper was doing great despite the fact she didn't have a choice not to. 😅
@@shadyogre6396 I very much agree. So many changes at the same time, so many adjustments to handle and juggle through will definitely make someone have one idea and then switch it all around the next moment. Piper knows what she wants and even by the end of the season she still wants to give it all up. Hell, by Season 2 she clearly stated she didn't want to be a witch anymore when Gail, Helen and Amanda were able to steal their powers for Cryto.
The Source will never make that deal Piper. He wants u dead just for being what u r. The Charmed Ones. With or without powers, *ITS NOT JUST WHO BUT WHAT U R*. Beside; if he did take that deal, then a hell of a lot of ppl r going to die. Bc none of u were there to stop the evils (e.g. the alternate timeline without Paige). Piper like this and across s6 of dismissing magical things for normalness is really annoying. 6x06 after the 1st scene atk, just wanted to look past it. 6x08 when they brought Excalibur home, she denied it glowing and Camelot existence.
It's not annoying that she would feel this way. She never wanted to be a witch or a charmed one that was clearly stated very early on in the series. She always wanted to be a chef, a restaurant owner, a wife and mother and be there for her sisters.. wirch responsibilities were never first for her. She only did what she had to do for her sisters.
And where's the proof? Shannon curiosly kept getting fired, she didn't need anybody's help with that. She was difficult to work with and Alyssa probably had enough of it. Holy had to put up with it cause Shannon was her friend who even got her the role.
@Acapella_guykev1 Also, I remember Rose constantly being the one who complained about the show to the media after the show ended and even threw shade saying she never sat down to watch it. She clearly only did it for the paychecks coming through each episode. Holly never complained about working on the show, and she was the only actress who fought to keep it running for as long as it did. Edit: However I do recall seeing a post way before the Rose/Alyssa feud where it was rumored that Rose said Alyssa's initial first impression wasn't friendly. Maybe that's what Rose was referring to. Honestly, when you put an all female lead cast, or male lead cast like that all day together, they're not exactly going to get along, especially if they weren't all making the same amount on checks after one season working together. I heard that is also why Alyssa was mad at Shannen because Shannen always made bigger checks. I'm sure Rose got mad because then it became Alyssa making the bigger checks. If all that's true, then Alyssa really is a hypocrite. Honestly we won't ever know because we didn't work on the show, and a lot of the guest stars and even Kaley Cuoco side with Alyssa. I do think that if Alyssa wasn't friendly with Rose at the start, she was probably either afraid to make friends with her like she did with Shannen & Holly, or she was jealous of Rose's beauty (at the time, sorry but she shouldn't have had so much plastic surgery).
What Piper says it's ridiculous. Dealing with the Source. That's impossible. Literal deal with the devi. He could never relax while they're there, and vise versa. This is where Piper starts getting obsessed with normal life, overreacting etc. Ups and downs, makes no sense. I understand everything but still.. Others were right to continue. Even after everything. Until the end. Great video
Piper has anxiety. I used to get annoyed too though but as I've gotten older, I'm seeing my own anxiety as demons I have to fight every day and I understand Piper. I want a normal life - a boring, simple normal life.
That episode doesn't make any sense in the beginning... Piper told Paige, just a few episodes earlier, that she has responsibilities as a witch. And suddenly she just throws that sentence out of the window, while Paige actually takes responsibility in this episode as well as Phoebe. If they started differently and turned the tables into the direction the rest of this episode went, it would have been a little bit more convincing. So she would take responsibility, but unconsciously wanting a completely normal life. The start: I didn't like it that much... as soon as the source has penetrated Pipers mind, this episode went ballistic.
Piper was ready to be a mom😢❤

As if The Source would ever actually follow through with any deal with good, helloooo he’s evil lol
