  • Power outages are happening all over the US. Get prepared now, before you lose all your food in your frig and freezer, can't power your medical equipment, etc. This Mango Power E review shows how to prepare before the grid goes down due to cyber attack, EMP, maintenance, and causes a blackout in your area.

    Thanks for taking of your neighbor!

    As someone who has been thru massive power outages twice now in Austin we made it thru no problem because we had two large generators, a Berkeley water system, a gas range and plenty of food on hand

      Now that sounds like someone who is prepared. Excellent!

    My neighbor got taken for 30k from a solar installer. She ended up taking them to court and won. They never gave her any written paperwork. They promised back up batteries and zero cost. Over a year later, that company is out of business and the panels are still attached to her roof and wired up next to the box. Just not connected. I wonder if she ownes them now after so long.
    Edit, she is 76 years old and they basically took advantage of her.

      I have a friend in Arizona where they entire community got taken by a solar company too. They are in a class action law suit right now. Promised battery backup but didn't deliver. Don't take the chance. Get your compete grid-down system at www.ldsprepperstore.com

    $18,000 WOW, MOST CAN'T AFFORD THAT! HECK I CAN'T EVEN AFFORD A SOLAR GENERATOR. :(

      They aren't generators. You'd be better off buying a bunch of Honda inverter gensets, some jerry cans, and some gas. Not sure what this sales pitch is about.

    I was looking at the mango E but I'm unsure if they're worth it for what I need. It seems like overkill for my needs. Is there any other options out there?

      If you need reliable grid-down power that will keep your frig, freezer, TV, microwave, lights, etc. running then you definitely want to get a Mango power station.

    @ldsprepper:
    Thanks for the videos. I’m a fan and long time watcher. I’ve purchased several items over the years and have pointed innumerable people to your channel.
    Regarding the “Power Outages: What to do before this happens to you!” video on your UA-cam channel:
    My situation appears to be similar to the narrator’s and I’ll bet it’s many potential customers’ situations. That is, we have grid tied solar with no battery backup if the grid goes down.
    While it’s easy to see how a system such as the Mango, etc. would be handy as a backup system in a short term emergency, and the MPanel looks super convenient for auto switching to backup, the thing we REALLY want solved is how to continue using our existing solar panels with something like the Mango (not a Tesla Wall) when the grid goes down. Perhaps there could be an auto-switch in addition to the MPanel to redirect output from some of the solar panels away from the grid tied inverter to the Mango solar input?
    Or, I guess, if the system is down over the long term, we should just have appropriate wires ready to go for manually connecting a portion of our panels to something like the Mango?
    Any thoughts or maybe a video on that issue?
    A related but separate topic: I’m not seeing in your videos is a head to head comparison vs the top competitors. For example, why the Mango instead of one of the competitors? If you or your son already has such a comparison please point me/us to it.

      @ldsprepper, I’m also interested to know more specifics on how to get these systems approved for the federal credit. Have any of your customers had any issues with that?

      Excellent question. You can use grid-tie solar when the grid is down, maybe. The reason grid-tied solar panels don't work when the grid is down is because they need to have AC (grid power) to convert the DC (solar panel) power to AC power in order to send the power back to the grid. The grid can't take raw DC power from the solar panels. The electricity has to be in AC not DC power. If you have a single inverter that all the solar panels are routed to than you can put a manual switch before the inverter and send the solar panel power to the Mango. The solar panels need to be wired properly so you are in the charging parameters of the Mango's inverter which are: 200W max, 30A max, 60-150V. I hope that helps.

    I am an electricianI bought a 300 amp/hr battery,leadacid..$350....battery charger $200......inverter $200......this is equivalent toabout 2 KW of usable power..You can add extra batteries..battery charger permanently connected to batteries..keeping 100% charge..I have solar panels,so I use a timer so charger only switches on thru a timer between 10am and3pm,so cost to charge is negligable....You can ,run leads if you need power ,or.I have dedicated gpo's in house that are plugged into the inverter.this is australian prices 2x batteries 7KW...allup under $1000..This is enough power to run lights and fridge +electronics for a day or 2..Keep your power seperate from mains power..you canadd a change over switch but starts to get expensive and behond understanding of most people..KEEP IT SIMPLE!

      It is awesome that you have electrical knowledge and can build your own battery backup. I did that too many years ago. It didn't work out as well as yours. :)

    Let's hope for the best that you don't get a pounding hail storm. The investment would be gone in a few minutes as far as the panels are concerned.

    • @LDSPrepper
      @LDSPrepper  Рік тому

      The Mango Solar panels are not your typical glass panel. They are carbon fiber and will withstand a hail storm with out any problem.
