Yup i actually like the addition of the mushed glowly mixin more than the main update itself…
I think this update should have been something similar to a "cooking update", essentially you unlock crafting recipes with taming levels (or it can be an entire new skill/you unlock more recipes the more you cook with fann) and these recipes are similar to pet candy (but it won't have the pet candy downside) so say you craft a basic cake with some enchanted wheat/some random cooking ingredients and you feed it to your pet and it gains 10k pet xp and the more expensive the crafting recipes are, the better the pet xp reward and later on feeding your pet can give it a buff for a few hours for example you craft a fish dish (i dont have a good name) it costs some enchanted fish/enchanted salmon/a washed up souvenir/new update items and when you feed it to your pet it gains an extra 10 fishing speed and 3 SCC for the next 24 hours (note i am not good at balancing) and of course there would be a cooldown on how often you can feed your pet because it would get full, ALSO BTW I remember refraction suggesting something similar to this in a stream OR maybe some other people have suggested this already so it is not fully my own idea.
tldr: feed your pet food, pet get stronger
edit: they changed the amount of xp from the pet care it is somewhat decent now (I haven't seen it fully yet) btw I wanted to say the update isn't bad/destroyed the game, I just feel it could have been done in a another way/add a lot more new content.

As others have said before, derpy doesn't increase bestiary xp. It's 1 million unaffected by combat wisdom or derpy. Pet xp however can be increased with a combat or all skills xp boost, your taming level, and diana's perk works as well. They all stack multiplicatively.

I believe u get more pet xp if you claim be during Diana since derpy doesn’t change the pet xp gained.
Derpy does change it, thats when I originally claimed my exp when the rework came out
Literally awful update, the 10 pets needed for taming 60 are going to be serious stress on ironman...

I thought this originally, but ive come to appreciate that it at the very least gave us something to do. Sure some pets like slug and cat are difficult, but it’s better than this update not releasing at all.

TAMING PET
I think the secret tracker should cost like 5 wither essence because no endgame or even midgame player will need it, they’ll have mods or routes already
It costs 100 which is basically the same as 5. Its like 10 floor 1 runs
I dont think i wanna wait 16 years for my level 70 skeleton pet to get to level 100.
the problem i have with this update is the prices and times are way to high. the caducous feeder is a faster and cheaper way to level pets if you arent an ironman. and that item has nothing to do with taming level so it feels very unnecessary and not well thought out. not to mention the whole heatran thing.

The update is horrible ngl. EXP gain is horribly low and owl pet was quite a bit disappointing. Hoped it would me maybe alternative to Sheep pet for mages or new enchanting pet... Instead, it is rather mediocre pet... Another horrible part of update is requirement for the higher taming levels. It shouldn't be donating pets, it should be owning them and let's say it soulbounds them to you. Pets to give should also be different.
I agree that the pet care system was a big letdown, but honestly, I do like how taming 60 was implimented, sure it would have been better if they made it unlocked by owning x unique pets, but at least we didn’t get it all for free, and actually have something to do!
@@Toadstar0still horrible game design for taming 60, they can totally make something new for it but instead they just list 10 hard-to-get pets for u to unlock caps. They rly should fire those game designers(including heatran), only dev team worked in my pov.

you can still trade a leg slug, as long as the rarity is above the required you can still use it

Could you elaborate on what’s bad about it? I’m seeing quite a few people dislike this update. Im collecting some info on what people dislike, and what they think should have been done instead
@@Toadstar0 It's just the huge amount of money you have to pay to level up your pet. We expected a way to not have to spend millions for high level pets like we do for the auction house.
I can raise a kid to become a young adult for that amount of time

DERPY DOESNT WORK FOR BEASTIARY PET XP!!! I HAVE TESTED IT LAST DERPY JUST DO IT DURING DIANA!!
Note: the only thing that affects xp is pet items and taming level perk otherwise you do not gain more xp. Champion doesnt work, and Derpy doesnt work. I tested this at around the time of the bestiary update for my Gdrag so

This pet update is a joke. They should've made a mini game to lvp up the pet per day. Like enchanting table kinda. This is such a rip off in price and time. They blew it big time.

The pet training thing literally takes YEARS to upgrade most pets to level 100
Owl pet is an exp only focused pet and only serves to slightly accelerate the training
People hyperfixate on the fact pet training isnt a useful mechanic, and completely ignore the entire rest of the update. It’s kinda funny lol

Taming 60 is a fun challenge. I like the prerequisites for level 60 skills. Its more fun than automatically getting it
@@Toadstar0 yeah agreed, but the ludicrous wait times for upgrading pets makes that whole section pointless for now. It also isn’t super interactive, especially for non iron man players who can just buy the pets. I’d rather have seen something a little more in depth, since it feels like they did the bare minimum

Its funny the only people who like the update are yters who push out a vid over everything so they can plug there code about the new way to spend gems
I think people are being to negative and picky about this update. It adds a few nice things. While the main mechanic of passive pet levelling was a let down. We got taming 60, a new reason to collect pets, and a few nice changes like the tonic mixin. Look past what didnt hit the mark and appreciate the stuff that does improve the game!
@@Toadstar0 sure all the qol stuff is nice but they can do that anytime. The problem I have with the update and why I personally think it's bad is the way that you unlock taming 60. No other skill is locked behind rng drops or just spending 500m coins there is no new game play with this update all they did is recycle old content and push out new monetization. Now I agree that the negativity is over what it should be, But that is also on the admins for not communicating with the community AT ALL. I want to emphasize how little they are communicating with the community as a whole I cannot stress enough that this is killing the game and making committed players quit
@@Toadstar0 Gonna be honest, kinda a bad take. "Just look past all the awful stuff" Does not improve the game. It is a generally bad update. They can change QOL stuff whenever and a few small buffs to other things does not mean the overall main aspect was good, and thats the issue, the main point of this update was bad, not everyone needs to try and spin it as positive, when this was a really lackluster update for what was expected.
Taming is not the only skill to have prerequisites. Farming does too! Personally i think its a fun idea, but yeah i wish the staff was a bit more in touch with everyone on updates
