It's the emotion he conveys! He is amazing at emotional performances. I have seen him sing this live 4 times now & it never fails to bring tears listening to his pain-filled vocals.
This song, from writing the story, composing the music, writing the screenplay, Directing, producing & acting in the mv, took him 3 years to complete. It's his cry to the world to stop the wars, stop killing each other 😢
At his concerts there are always Dears from 60-70 countries there. Different cultures and religions, yet all getting along, respecting our differences & loving each other. Dimash loves that! We all sing along in his mother tongue, Kazakh, as well as his Russian & all other languages he sings & it's just wonderful. If only the world could do the same 😢

Although the MV is a Masterpiece that ranks up there with M. J's Earth Song in terms of its message, I prefer the "live" version for its emotional performance from Dimash. Stunning performance which had me mesmerised to the very end ! Thank you for your reaction.

👉 That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen.
This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children.
Story: The clip is divided into several parts. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he almost drowns. The three children are friends and their common external symbol is the necklace (gnomon).
Both boys are in love with the girl. But she chooses “Dimash”. The other boy feels hurt.
The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which served as a nautical compass in ancient times. This symbol is upside down on the uniforms. (That's not how it works.)
It's war. The children are grown and the two boys have parted ways. Dimash's childhood friend has become the country's president/general and mercilessly follows his twisted ideology.
As an antagonist (He is the Piper - based on the “Pied Piper of Hamelin”), he carries the idea of a saving war:
“Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We accompany everyone who is ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no place with us. I choose freedom. The world is my oyster and I want to give it to you… War is the way to a united people!”
The main character, Dimash, also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love.
He's struggling, he's confused, he's in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife and his young daughter.
When he finally comes home, he is horrified to discover that his entire family has been killed. His wife has disappeared and his little daughter is dead. The loss of his daughter almost drives him crazy.
(Dimash says in a growling voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. - Kazakh proverb)
He wants revenge and an end to the horror. He shoots the general, his childhood friend and former lifesaver... and is killed himself.
The protagonist's wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who will give birth to a special child.
The many pilgrims are people of all religions who walk together the arduous path to the light, to a place of hope, truth and peace.
One day, the protagonist's son grew up to be one of their leaders.
The words at the end of the video are from the "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb, on February 4, 2019. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.

My opinion: The whole song is an outcry. Dimash's unmistakable emotionally charged voice draws you into the video. I was totally hypnotized. My heart aches because of the wars and misery in this world. The greed, envy and intolerance of men will wipe them off the face of the earth if they do not come to their senses. Children and women are targeted victims of annihilation and rape in wars. But they are not just victims or mothers. They are half of humanity. Where are they? Why don't the women climb the mountain side by side with the men and head towards the sunrise and a better future? I only see men running mercilessly past a collapsed comrade-in-arms. Nobody helps him. What future can such a humanity await? Will anything ever change?

On September 13, 2022, Dimash performed his new song 'The Story of One Sky' at a concert for the congress participants.
The music video premiered on September 24 at Dimash's meeting with fans in Almaty.

The official live version of his concert (on September 23, 2022 in front of 30,000 people from 68 different countries) is available on his channel, Almaty concert part 3 from minute 23:15 with a short speech in which he performed the song first time. You should definitely see this. There are English subtitles and the chatter in the background cannot be heard.
