Your comments about just sitting and looking at the landscapes is as important as shooting them hit home. I always admire those writers who describe the landscapes and images through words rather than pictures.
Walked past "Sands" from Carn Dearg last August on way up to Rua Reidh lighthouse. Stunning day, topped by an evocative photo of the pure white lighthouse set against the backdrop of a vivid deep blue sea . One of those things, you just don't plan but luckily stumble upon
Keep up the good work Kim you make truly inspirational videos. It must take so much of you time up and I do really appreciate it. Hope your feeling better soon and look forward to the next vlog
So nice to see some lovely weather for you. We here in the Mid-Atlantic States have seen more rain than sun the last few months (you can have it back when you're ready. ;) Hope you are feeling better.
Nice vlog kim. We had a great day. Shame we had to cut it sort but ur health comes first hun. And u didn't miss any photo opportunities at sunrise.. But we did see some amazing scenery... Overall... X
So sorry you fell ill just when you were in the most beautiful area in the North-West of Scotland! We've been so often there that it feels like second home to us.
Beautiful places Kim, I have taken that shot looking down to loch Maree and also love Gairloch. You can have set intentions but sometimes life just gets in the way! Hope you are feeling better now. Thanks
Another engaging video and a wonderful promotion for the Scottish Highlands. I genuinely look forward to seeing your work and am delighted when I get a notification you have uploaded something. David Dixon recently did a video about photographing the architecture of Oxford. I think variety creates innovation and challenges us. Photographing in a different context is a refreshing experience. I would absolutely love to see what you would do in Edinburgh which is just about my favourite city in the whole world. The frames, compositions and vistas available in that capital are wonderful. Would you ever think about doing that?
Thank you Garry and yes I agree that variety challenges us. Photographing in Edinburgh would be great - it might have to be something that I look into doing in the future. As you can probably tell, I'm not a city bird but who knows what videos will be shot in the coming year. Thanks for the suggestion - I've written it down.
Well done you. I love it up that way. I have been up there twice now stayed in a lighthouse Ruah Ried I think it is. You would love it the owners of the B&B are really nice home cooked food book yourself a couple night there with your mate and tell Tracy and Roger that Paul says hello and hope to come back soon for another visit haha
I commend you for managing to get a good travel vlog while under the weather - when I'm feeling sick, I just want to crawl into bed and stay there. Hope you feel better soon!
Ooh what a beautiful place to wild camp eh Kim? Gorgeous views! Sorry to hear how unwell you were feeling but hoping that just chilling watching the sunset did help a bit! Peace & the gorgeous coast won't make the cough/ cold & aches and pains go away but somehow it can ease & calm you- very soothing for the soul! I put pressure on myself last yr on holiday in Devon to get up every morning at 5am to take as many photo's of sunrise as I could but the real beauty was just sitting on the beach experiencing it 😊
Thanks again for your comment Debbie. Yep - being at the location and witnessing it with the naked eye really is the real beauty. And yes - it was a gorgeous place to camp.
I feel your pain. Just getting over that myself. Take care. Nice to see that Brendon van Son follows you. It seems that for me I struggle to find the time, the weather etc . Then it all flows and the inspiration comes when it's ready.
Och being ill when you're away sucks - I was ill for 10 days in Australia and Sydney was a complete bust - didn't even take my camera one day, gave up on a blue mountain waterfall trip another. But, there are worse places to be ill I guess! and as you say, just taking time to admire your surroundings is the important part really, and it's got to be good for you!
Sorry Kim, accidentally clicked the dislike button as I was coming out of full screen mode. I then managed to click it again trying to rectify, and I'm perfectly healthy (just incompetent).

Thank you, Kim, for being you. You're real, and that makes you special. You're a joy to watch, a bit under the weather or not. Feel better.
Thank you do much Ira! That's a lovely thing to say :)
Once again a beautiful part of the world. Hope you are feeling a lot better and look after yourself Kim.
Thank you again Kim. Always take care of yourself first; you can try again another time for photos. What a lovely place.

Stayed in a lighthouse! Wow that sounds amazing - I will have to look into that. Thanks for the suggestion :)
I commend you for managing to get a good travel vlog while under the weather - when I'm feeling sick, I just want to crawl into bed and stay there. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you very much! It was a struggle but as I was only away for a night, I pushed through it. Had plenty of time to rest when i got home :)

Is that sands caravan and camping campsite I love it there ❤️
Beautiful place. Get well soon Kim. 👍
Thanks Andy :)
I feel your pain. Just getting over that myself. Take care. Nice to see that Brendon van Son follows you.
It seems that for me I struggle to find the time, the weather etc . Then it all flows and the inspiration comes when it's ready.
Very nice to see Brendon commenting - glad you're on the mend from your cold too :)
Am I the only one who was sad not to see some chicken photography?
Brendan van Son Fried or roasted?
Haha...maybe a video idea for the future :)
Lol Brendan the chickens are mainly rescue chickens and a bit camera shy..just like my cat 'litha' that came to Gairloch with us...
😂 I'm wondering- Do all the UA-camr I follow know each other? I always like collaborations , is there a chance to see you two in one video? 😃

Admiring your surroundings really is the important part. Thanks for sharing your story Scott. 10days is a long time to be ill when on holiday
You are still contributing to plan my next photo trip to Scottland and bringing my memories back., so don't worry and get well soon.
Great video get well soon
Feel better!
Nothing better than a summer cold... paracetamol, rest, water and a good sleep.
What campsite is this? Love to take my motorhome up there lol 🤗
Hi kim your a really brave person soldier on.
Happy new sunglasses :)
HAHA thanks Ian! The broken pair finally made it into the bin.
My pleasure, Kim.
Hope you're feeling better Kim. It must have been the shock of finding a salad in Scotland ;-)
Haha...I was very surprised by that salad find I must admit. Thank you :)
Kim, without your health there will never be any photography, hope you feel much better soon and back to your normal self💐💐take care
Thank you very much Mark!

Aah! I was scratching my head at the title before watching, thinking, ''Illness'? Where on the West Coast is that?'
Hi Kim! Get well..
Fine job "carrying on". Pretty good job considering. I hope time has provided the cure.
Thanks Brad and it has - feeling myself again now :)
Hope you are feeling better. Please remember it is more then ok not to talk and to let the images/scenery talk for themselves.
Oh, what a shame for you but I hope by now you have recovered and feel good again. Well done for persisting with the vlogg.
Thank you Brenda and yes, I'm much better thanks :)
chillin. Chil. Wipe yer nose. It's not the end.

Nope, shot of whiskey, instant cure... lol
When I visited a Gairloch I was eaten alive by midges.
Ahh the dreaded midge. I seem to have avoided them so far this year!
the most dirty hotel in highlands is gairloch hotel!!!!!!

Oh John...never mind, mistakes happen! I'll be expecting 2 likes on my next video though to make up for it haha!
