Maybe they hate trains. I stayed overnight at a campground in Sandusky and hated the trains when they woke me up, but I like them when not trying to sleep. I'm a '90's kid, so I grew up with TTTE models. I also got some train books, Here Come Tootle, The Huffin Puff Express and 6 Thomas books based on Shining Time Station, one of my favorite shows as a young child.
Superb steam action Mike on your Marathon video, and some stunning scenery and loco variety too! Thanks for sharing this one, a great 33 mins of viewing. Ken
I had to stop for the night and comment about the great Western Maryland footage---though the whole video is the best I've seen! The low speed clanking of worn side rod brasses took me back 70 years to my home town, a village a few miles west of Milwaukee on the Milwaukee Road. The local peddlers, working an industrial siding that ended up just across the road from the lake that gave our village its name, backed cars into a sharp curve that aimed the siding at a right angle to the double-track main line. Flanges squealed and worn brasses clanked as the class K 2-6-2 Prairies and C-type Consols would shove cars intended for the four industries that shared the siding. I didn't think of it at the time, but as a model railroader for 65 years, I realize what a headache it must've been to shuffle the various cars to the industries. The oil company at the very end required tank cars, another required boxcars and an occasional gondola, and so forth. There must've been a passing siding nearby (there were several in the small yard to the east of us) so they could reshuffle the consist and get cars back where they'd been so they could be unloaded. And all the while, the sulfurous smell of bituminous coal drifted all over the neighborhood. The ins and outs of way freight switching was infinitely more interesting than the movement of the unit trains of today, not to mention the through freights that roared through town at the "slow" speed of 35 or 40 and the mighty _Hiawathas_ and local passenger trains that stopped at our beautiful brick depot by the lake. Thanks, I think I'm gonna spend this weekend absorbing all your "Galore" videos while wallowing in blissful nostalgia!

How does a video like this have over 1k dislikes?? Certainly nothing to do with the quality of the filming and editing. Excellent job here!
probably just militant eco-nazis who can only see pollution in everything humans do.
