Please keep the Aldi videos coming. I seriously have cut my grocery bill drastically since shopping at Aldi! I’m obsessed with this store now. I find their foods comparable if not better than name brand food from the big stores. I’m a believer. And there’s a reason the red bag chicken has its own Facebook group…. Yummy

I'm a big fan of Aldi, but mad about their higher prices. Fruit and veg specials are a big draw, and I like their Twice as Nice guarantee. That makes me willing to try nearly any product. I buy canned beans and tomatoes at Aldi for 50-60 cents. Walmart prices them at 75-95 cents. Fresh fruits and veg are 95% of my purchases. I start my shopping at Aldi and visit the Korean or Mexican market to get specialty fruit and veg.

My favorite place to buy spices is at a health food store. It can be bought by the ounce and is very fresh. I just refill my spice container. I look on the container to see how many ounces originally came in it and go from there. I especially like buying poultry seasoning and other seasonal spices as I can buy only the quantity that I need.

Here in south FL, I find that Aldi still have the best prices on canned goods across the board (fruit, veg, beans). Aldi's spices however are typically around $0.25-1.00 higher than our Walmart prices. I think Aldi is really heading for a hurting in the U.S. with the extreme price jumps their CEO announced last week. Chicken breasts are now $3.69/lb at Aldi, and Walmart's still putting them at $1.99. Aldi also seems to have very little chicken breasts available in the flat packs - haven't seen any in 2+ weeks in spite of the ridiculous price.

Have others noticed the incidence of "rubbery" chicken increasing? 😜 My family members here in S. CA have talked about this for a couple years now. It never used to be an issue. Now, about a third of every pkg of fresh chicken I buy will have at least a segment that is of a rubbery texture. I've begun using my meat mallot to beat the breasts, and that helps somewhat. Is this happening in other locales too?

I love the original Cadbury eggs. Their very sweet but I usually get at least 2 and throw them in the freezer. My brother gave me a Carmel one. It's o.k. but still like the original one. The Peeps wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so sugary. Way to sweet!! I watched someone make the Rice Krispie treats using the peeps instead of regular marshmallows. We love the pretzels that mimic Dots Pretzels, in the Clancy brand. Also the pepperoni you mentioned is good. A staple that we get almost every week from Aldi is the carton of liquid egg whites. It’s cheaper than anyplace else. My husband likes the protein wraps they carry, and their roasted ,salted peanuts. He also loves their copycat of Triscut crackers, which I learned about from you, Mindy! Cheaper, and better tasting! Their produce is priced really well, but sometimes isn’t the best. Other times it’s great. So, I have to watch that. Sometimes they have great holiday candy. Oh, their copycat of canned Manwich sauce is delicious! Better tasting than Manwich! Makes amazing sloppy joes!👍

The nearest Aldi to me is about a 45 mile round trip! Highway up the mountain or down the mountain! Each location has an Aldi, a Walmart and a Sam's Club. I drive a 2006 Ford Fusion that basically gets 25mpg on average unless I use my air-conditioner- I always wonder, especially with gas prices so high currently if I am actually saving money in the long run. I usually end up shopping at my local Food Lion and only buying sale, BOGOs or manager specials. Sorry for rambling. My Dad still loves the original Peeps! He's 88! IF you're going to the big city anyway then sure shop the cheaper stores, but I've seen small 1 grocery store towns lose their local grocery because almost everyone decided to make it to the big city for their shopping and would say "well the local guy is too expensive". Then suddenly the local grocery closes and now with gas a $4 a gallon you are forced to drive 30 miles each way for staples when you could have just supported the local grocery a tiny bit more and they'd still be overpriced in comparison but not a blighted vacant building and not unemploying 15-20 of your neighbors. If you can buy locally when it makes sense..

I am one of those mom and pop stores. We rent the store space from an oil company, they take 11% of our store sales. We make a 1.5 cent per gallon commission on the gas which amounts to roughly $21 a day. That pays for the electricity to the pumps all the canopy lights, etc. Then the electricity for inside, water, inventory, workman's comp insurance. Our payroll is equal to all the other expenses put together. (They are so worth it, though. We wish we could pay them more.) With the gas price increase customers are putting more money in their tank and not spending so much in the store. We had to cut hours which effects those families who in turn have less to spend on groceries that have gotten more expensive. Our prices are going up EVERY WEEK!

I moved to a place that has Aldi's in November. Now I'm waiting for their German week. I haven't physically been in a store yet, but I've got my quarter ready and I want to check out the aisle of shame!

Was in there today. I love the green onions for $.69 amongst many of the things you mentioned. Prices are rising, but this store is still cheaper usually. We have a Lidl nearby, so there's price competition for sure and I enjoy looking at the sales flyers and shopping accordingly.

I use green onions all the time. I buy green onions once in a while, then after using the green part, put the root ends in a jar of water and they regrow in a week or so. I get 2 or 3 crops before they get too stinky. (Replace the water every other day.)

I love Aldi, i was able to restock my pantry for less, and i also have cut my grocery bill. I have been able to find items on the foods i really like that are delicious for less and look forward to eating at home instead of eating out. i love the marinated turkey tenderloins. i discovered canned potatoes due to Aldi.. I just cook for me and dont like leftovers but aldi has me liking leftovers. this week i have found that the cold case meatballs ( the italian sausage was the same packaging) were delicious as was the Reggano Traditional pasta sauce. i made meatball sliders. i love the freezer section pork sausage links and that sausage roll that was in the video and the center cut bacon was my favorite. those waffles for 99 cents are excellent as are the spices for under a dollar.. i found their baking aisle very reasonable.. the cooking oils are excellent deals.. the deli black forest ham, bread, and i love the cheese they make excellent fast grilled ham and cheese melts.. the ground beef has made many good meals. i loved the dirty rice mix, i add ground beef and polska kielbasa.. they have jiffy mixes for cornbread. fast filling meal.. everything i have tried in frozen section has been top notch.. the bread aisle, the cookies and snack aisles.. yeah.. i love going in there and finding new things.. will try that apple cinnamon muffin mix with the struesel.. Thank you! i loved the tips!

They seem to keep adding more and getting better. In a pinch and a quick meal, the pizza in the cooler section is actually pretty good!!! Oh, the breakfast bowls are really good also.

Great video. I like Aldi as well. I will shop there when I'm in the "big town" which is 1/2 hour away from me either way. Have you heard that millions of chickens, here in the U.S., have been killed due to the bird flu? I wonder if that's why the Aldi is short on chicken. I stock up on spices as well. The last time I was at Aldi, which is a new store, I bought a bunch of vegetables. They were so good and fresh! Reese's ROCKS! Thanks for the video. Hope you all had a great Easter.

I've noticed Target is cheaper on a lot of grocery stuff these days over Walmart. I comparison shop between Target, Aldi, and Walmart. What I can't find at Aldi is usually 20-30 cents cheaper at Target, which kind of shocked me!

We live on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, the difference between prices at Aldi in VA and NC is surprising. For example, NC eggs will be over $2 a dozen and in VA it will be less than $1 for a dozen. Still love Aldi, we just know that some prices are better at once vs the other.
