As a Belgian and frequent visitor of Walibi Belgium, I would like to clarify a number of things from your vlog. 1) Psycké Underground: the park attaches great importance to the nostalgic value of the attraction. That is why it has been refurbisched and not removed. I personally also find the surrounding building very strange (and ugly). But apparently this building is necessary to stop noise nuisance for the local residents. That's why all the big roller coasters are on the highway-side of the park. 2) Dalton Terror and Calamity Mine: these attractions date from the time when the western village was themed after the characters of Lucky Luke (a Belgian comic book series about a cowboy) Dalton Terror is therefore named after the Daltons (a gang of thieves) and Calamity Mine after Calamity Jane. 3) For several years, Walibi has been investing heavily in a transformation plan. They allready accomplisched a big part of it. But there is still more to come. 4) The indoor water park (Aqualibi) is very popular with Belgians. It is indoor because of the rainy Belgian weather. Because it's an indoor water park, it can open year round. I also hope that the wooden coaster gets aan RMC treatment in de future ;-)
As a dutch person it's so fun to see you visit my home parks! Happy to hear you enjoyed it, and in the end, he is right, I also like that kind of music, especially on a festival, it's amazing!! Hope you will enjoy Walibi Holland as much, and have fun on Untamed!!
When I rode Loup-Garou a few months ago, I feel in love with it. Maybe it's just me being a masochist but I couldn't stop laughing the entire ride because apparently, I consider the feeling of being inside a blender very entertaining. Horrible restraints though!
To be fair, next to the Walibi Park the biggest Hardstyle festival in the world, Defqon 1, is located (search for it on youtube you see Goliath in the background). So the your music theme was actually spot on for going to Walibi (not my taste however)
Tomorrowland is another music festival held over there in Belgium north of Brussels. I’m a really big fan of Lost Frequencies and they put on another incredible live performance at Tomorrowland a few months ago in the summer (when I watched your Plopsaland Ride To Happiness video I noticed the station looks very similar to the stage they had at Tomorrowland and I was imagining what it would be like to ride that roller coaster with onboard audio listening to Lost Frequencies) Many amazing songs, vocals, and really deep bass. They combine guitars, drums, and other instruments during their live sets which makes them unique in the EDM electronica music scene. Felix De Laet is an awesome musician and one of the best most underrated DJs in the world. They were even invited to perform a live set on the roof of the Royal Palace in Brussels back in 2020 during the lockdown. They keep releasing new incredible live performances on UA-cam and I’m sure August knows who they are from being into the music scene over there.
challenge of tutankhamon gets a different ending depending on the score you have! so if your score is high enough, you'll actually gonna get a secret ending! Btw Pulsar being down is not THAT bad as you guys got. it breaks down sometimes but not as much as that day. Also Kondaa can easily get a 2hour wait in the weekends
19:55 so the music August was listening too is a sub genre of Hardstyle music. Which (hard style) is extremely popular in the Netherlands and Europe. Now the DJ group he was listening too just messes around with kicks and everything, there’s a lot of good remixes of EDM songs that were turned into a hardstyle song (Don’t let me down by the chain smokers, blah blah blah by Armin Van Burren, and there’s actually been a couple of Disney songs like let it go in frozen, circle of life from the lion king, and others too (not by the group august was listening too)). It’s definitely worth listening to it and checking it out because the remixes are very good and are extremely popular. Also Fun fact: Right next door to Wallibi Holland is a hard style festival that takes place on the last weekend of June every year, it’s a 4 day festival with over 10 stages called defqon (yes w a q) one and they have some of the best firework end shows you’ll ever see which is also worth checking out as well.
Walibi Belgium is the original of the Walibi parks. The name comes from the 3 towns surrounding it : Wavre, Limal and Bierges. The Spyké Underground coaster is a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop, formerly known as 'Sirocco', build in 1982 and it was the first launched coaster in Europe. In 1997 something went wrong with the launch (back then still a flywheel, which is still visible today). The train managed to get past the loop forward, but on the way back, it got stuck upside down in the loop. People got stuck up there for 1 hour 40 minutes. Luckily nobody got hurt.
My home park!! I love this park from the bottom of my heart so I'm so glad to finally see you guys visiting this park. Great video, I was so excited for this one!
pretty crazy as a belgium fan to see 19:41 as I practically live near that exit cool to see you visit all my home parks, can't wait for bobbejaanland/efteling (if you went there)
This park shocked me with how beautiful and well themed it is. Absolutely slammed when I went (it was during their great Halloween event) but it’s such a well rounded park that needs just another elite coaster to complement Kondaa and Loup-Garou (which though rough is super underrated - at night in the back the airtime is insane!)
I was at Walibi Belgium with some friends the same day as you ! (the group with the Kondaa plushies, if you remember). It was fun to spot me in the vidéo (in the Kondaa's station, and several times on the ride).
Just so you guys know , Loup Garou / Werewolf actually won't be in the safety standards anymore in less than 5 years (from what I've heard) so it's obviously gonna get a retrack but that could be from gravity Group (like they did for Tonnerre 2 Zeus in Parc Astérix) OR RMC (like they did for untamed). As Walibi Belgium is my home park I rode Kondaa more than 80 times since it opened and the front row is , in my opinion , the best spot to be seating in. The first 2 airtimes in the front just throw you out of your seat-
In what way would it no longer be compliant? But man, I really hope they retrack this thing, cause it's rough af, but it's also one of the first coasters I ever rode.
@@_bigblind Well the ride is quite old and each year the track keeps getting more and more damaged. As I said it's what I heard from someone working there
6:50 the name Dalton comes from the Dalton brothers wich are 4 well known cartoon carracters beeing the main antagonists of the Lucky Luke (the man who shoots faster then his shadow) cartoons
Fun fyi: that gearbox in the psyke underground is not a gearbox but a Schwarzkopf flywheel for a shuttle loop. The track was in open air when opened and called “sirocco” but due to noise complaints they build a building around the looping and station. The hills where still opened this was called the “turbine”. A few years ago they decided to replace the flywheel and cars for a gerslauer LSM launch and extensive theming. They also covered the full ride. The flywheel is now only there as a tribute to the original Schwarzkopf design. It had a way more forceful launch straight from the station and went all the way back on the second hill. Its sad they had to replace it.
I love this park and I'm glad it's one of my home parks. And you have to ride Loup Garou in the back, cause in the front it's trash and in the back it's less rough and has plenty of airtime, some of them are crazy ejector moments. Therefore it's my favorite Woodie in europe, I prefere it to rides like Colossos, Troy, Wodan, etc. But I still want it to be RMC'ed, cause RMC is just RMC😂🤷🏼♂️
They do not only close the lines early, they WILL shutdown the ride at closing time... Even if there still is a line! About 2 trains worth of people (including me) got kicked off the station of Konda after waiting on line for over 30 minutes, because "it was 6 o'clock and the ride has to close"
they changed psyké to LIM because it kept getting stuck in the loop and less maintenance of course Loup Garoup is always very popular and kondaa doesn't get lines longer than it, but that might have changed by now. Tiki Waka is also one of those rides that has a terrible queue when riding with groups. Pulsar isn't usually down a lot tho, but it's awesome. If you want to get wet on it, you usually have to sit more towards the sides. really excited to hear what you're gonna think about Bobbejaanland, my homepark.
Psyké/Turbine/Sirocco has litterally just been stuck upside down for that one time … They had to re-do the ride because it was simply worn out to the point beyond repair and Schwarzkopf being bankrupt and not being able to get spare parts.
This Park steppet up so well the last year, and end nex year they opening 5 new proslides at aqualibi. so happy this is just a 2 hour train ride away from me.
same with walibi holland i was there on halloween fright nights every coaster was SPILLING OUT and they had to put extra fences to keep the crowds in the line
I would love for you guys to do this for North America. Even though you guys went to most of the parks. The entire us and the couple of Canada parks would be so fun
the shooting on king thut is actually really need because you have different tours depending if you kill the first boss you will get to the next boss but if you don't kill the first boss the ride ends straight and if you kill the endboss you will get to a treasure chamber but if you don't kill the endboss uou will go back to the station so it's actually really cool
These two are insane parks, Walibi is my home park and actually the best in Belgium and one of the best in Europe with all of the coasters (Loup-Garou, Cobra, Psyké Underground, Dalton Terrors and ofc Kondaa) and PlopsaLand is also really great with Ride to the Hapiness wich is basically the best coaster in Europe and very unique
The sad thing is, Loup Garou used to be great! As much as I like RMC's, I'd prefer for it to get a retrack over a full RMC treatment. Also re: the challenge of Tutankhamon, this was actually the first shooting ride in the park, popcorn revenge came later.
To bad you didn’t tried the world’s smoothest Boomerang (and good looking), Radja River or even the madhouse. The park really has some great potential. I hope you noticed the extreme good operations?
Disappointed that you didn't try the Belgian Mcdonalds specialty, the McBeer! Discovered that whilst over there for plopsaland. Kondaa looks amazing, hoping to get back over to Belgium at some point!
What you said about the locals is true. I live in Belgium and every non-enthusiast I"ve talked to seems to LOVE Vampire and Loup-Garou. I don't get it. Also, the King Tut ride actually has a different ending like a type of boss fight if your group has enough points
I'll write this on every video related to this park. PLEASE. tear down Loup-Garou and Vampire (Worst SLC i've been on 🤮) and put a big boy RMC in there. The space they would have, it would be insane. Side note. The McFlurry's in Belgium are amazing. In the UK you get the bare minimum, its like a law in Belgium to drown a Mcflurry in delicious chocolate sauce and it's life changing.
August's music taste is questionable indeed, however cool El Toro tshirt! I almost wore mine on my Walibi Belgium visit too, however I opted for my Six Flags Great America tshirt. Those single rider lines were life savers. Did every coaster once and Kondaa 10 times. Was a busy day, but the park exceeded my expectations.
Oh you can get soaked on Pulsar. Been there done that 😅, but if you're lucky you're not. I agree they should RMC Loup-Garou. Sometimes it rides better than other times though, but I mostly skip it. There are rumours it's possible they will RMC it, but because of covid they postponed their investment plan and should continue with it next year. They should replace Vampire with something better too! Dalton Terror is named after The Daltons in comic book Lucky Luke, but it is not themed to it anymore. They just kept the name.
Visited this park last summer. I expected a lot of it but felt a little disappointed afterwards. Kondaa is a very good coaster but the rest just didn’t do it for me. Maybe that’s because I visited Phantasialand a few weeks before and had a great day over there
They should redo their top 25s with all these new experiences!
