Absolutely brilliant analogies. You're a fabulous teacher. Thanks so much for all your advice. I've been avoiding my dream of voice acting for 30 years, finally gonna take the leap. Binge watching everything on your channel. Thank you!!!
Get a copy of the book before you agree. Review it and make sure the book is well written enough to even narrate into an audiobook, does not contain content you would be uncomfortable performing, and figure out the number of words in the book. You can estimate approximately 9,000 being roughly an hour of finished audio. It may take you 2-6 hours to produce that finished hour depending on how well you understand your DAW and audio mastering. Generally audiobooks pay per finished hour. If you’re new, $50-$100 per finished hour is a good starting point. If you are experienced, you can raise that rate. Divide your rate by 6 (since it takes 2-6 hours to produce said finished hour) to estimate your actual hourly wage for the audiobook. Best of luck!

Thanks Jessica! And yes, take the leap!!!
Interesting concept. Now I'm wondering, would it also be good to submit two takes in slightly different styles for audiobook auditions?
Good morning from Dells Wi
Morning!
I was asked to do an audio book (roughly 230 pages) as my first paid project. Any idea what I should charge?
