At the beginning of the show David said he wanted to do it for his Dad. Anyone not touched by the smile on Dad's face when David received the standing ovation doesn't have a pulse. Wonderful performance.
Unbelievable!! The most moving song I have ever listened to....brought me to tears. Well done David and best of luck for the competition and I'm sure...a bright future ahead.
I love you more every time I watch you, you have amazing talent and are a great entertainer. Thankyou for being here at the same time as me on this earth.
David, this performance brought tears to my eyes. You are an amazing singer. Ive watched all your other videos. Equally brilliant. The tenderness of your voice causes people to weep. This is very rare. Good luck David. I look forward to buying your first CD.
I LUV your voice David Devito..I listen to this over & over & it ALWAYS gives me goosebumps.& you're SOOOOO handsome.May You find the world at your feet when the rest of the world finds you.You truely are A STAR.
Whatever happened to you? Your voice is fantastic, fabulous and flawless! Love your singing. Will have to go onto other channels in youtube to see if I can find and hear you once again! Thanks for sharing your voice and hope your father is doing well. xoxo
he has me in tears everytime, i really hope he wins, if not for him but for his farhter!! what better last memory of your son then this, pure amazing,, he brings me to tars.. just amazing!!
That is probably one of my all time favourite songs and i thought David nailed it. It's such an emotional song and i had a few tears in my eyes especially when his Dad gave him a standing ovation at the end.
i love how music binds the father and the son! my father and I are both teachers and we usually argue on things about school! the thing that binds us though is our strong passion in our profession!
David, yours was an incredibly sensitive and beautiful interpretation of the aria. You mixed tremendous gentility, a broad dynamic range, and passionate power in one of the most beautiful and challenging operatics. We didn't see you over here in the US, but I am so glad I found this performance on youtube! If you put this out as a single on iTunes, I'm sure you would sell many, MANY mp3s! Best of luck to you, friend. Pavarotti, Corelli, di Stefano would be proud, just like your DAD!!
Just like Adam Hynes, he is so good in his own genre, but rather overlooked and ignored by the media. He is one of the dark horses running to win this year AGT! All the best, David! GBU.
Amazing!... your voice is just beautiful... David you been singing for a long time and just keep at it... you will make it! I would definitely buy your music and I know a lot of people that would! Love it... Keep at it David, you will succeed and make us proud in the world stage, I am proud that you are an Aussie champion! Well done David... Your parents must be very proud of you:)
The strongest operatic contender this show has had, and the only one who has appeared that could actually make a career in opera outside of the show. Would be good to hear him without a mike.
He sounded EXACTLY like Jussi Bjorling. Look up his version of the song and tell me it doesn't sound the same. Not only should this gift to the world win the competition, he should be singing at the Metropolitan Opera. This man is absolutely legendary, and I'm suprised he's on a show like this and hasn't been recognized earlier.
i dun understand what he is singing but i was touched by his singing every single time i listen to it....i understand why Brian was crying....that's how amazing it is......
I have watched many performances of this Aria and what makes this one very similar to Pavarotti is he does not strain to get to and hold the notes. Many people I have seen try this song seem to be straining or screaming. Great job.
@infiniwatches Pavarotti had power to burn. And definition. Clear as a bell. I certainly can't sing like Mr. DeVito but he's no Pavarotti. I've heard Mr. Pavarotti in conversation and his speaking voice was like a jet engine idling. The man had so much power. Messers Potts and DeVito both make a commendable effort, I'm not taking away from it, but Pavarotti was a legend in his life time for a reason.
Thankyou so much for your comments. My interpretation of this Aria was to make it different to the original by adding pop style inflections in some of the phrasing .I love the original but wanted to change it slightly to make it my own .I wanted the quiet parts to be more vulnerable and the finale to be mind blowingly powerful.I normally never sing a song as it has been written without DeVito-izing it. LOL ! Peace
@hansquad According to the man himself he deliberately included 'pop style inflections' which would explain why it doesn't sound operatic throughout to someone who listens to a lot of opera. Perhaps what he said about trying to express vulnerability in the quieter parts explains what you saw as a lack of power, then again maybe not (-:
@usukker Why hate someone for singing in a style you don't like. Most people, whether they like Opera or not can tell that this guy is extremely talented.
@infiniwatches Shoot...don't even mention Paul Potts in this equation. Am glad that Potts is having a singing career but compared to David's, his voice is as a babe forever lost in the woods. Win or not win, De Vito HAD BETTER come out of this with a major recording contract and some concert dates.
@ericmarshall69 If you like Potts better, watch his videos instead! Bro, I saw him perform Nessun Dorma, and I've seen it performed on talent shows so many times I felt like crying to get it to stop, but David's version literally took my breath away. That's why I support the big brutha. Now go home.
All the Potts comparisons and any other farting in the wind others are doing, bottom line is the man can sing, and is world class. Doesn't matter what style of music you are into. If you cant appreciate good vocals then put back on the ipod with the spice girls on.
@weedermann With all due respect, you are being illogical here.., let us subscribe that I don't have an instrument as beautiful as he is, it does not disqualify me from giving him evaluation. I'm sick of this line of faulty reasoning "if you are not as good, then you can't say a word". Singing is one thing. Listening and knowing what you are listening to is one thing. I listen to the greats: Gigli, Corelli, Del Monaco, Pavarotti, Bjorling to name a few.. I know what I'm talking about sir.
transposed half step down? I think it's a Bflat instead of B naturale. He has a nice voice, but somehow and certain parts he is not really operatic sounding.. squillo, depth and power are lacking compared to other tenors singing Nessun. But he's of course really good compared to ordinary singers, or to me :)
@hansquad De Vito's voice is significantly greater than "nice", hansquad. If YOU don't have an instrument as beautiful as his, that you can work as skillfully, maybe you need to shut the hell up. It bothers me to have people casually passing technical judgement on a medium they personally have no conception of.
At the beginning of the show David said he wanted to do it for his Dad. Anyone not touched by the smile on Dad's face when David received the standing ovation doesn't have a pulse. Wonderful performance.
You were amazing David. I myself, really want to get into Opera and I hope I can be as amazing a singer as you are one day. Awesome job!!!!
Unbelievable!! The most moving song I have ever listened to....brought me to tears. Well done David and best of luck for the competition and I'm sure...a bright future ahead.

He has a beautiful voice, I hope he wins... I will definitely buy his albums when they come out!!!... Well done David, you make Australia proud
Whatever happened to you? Your voice is fantastic, fabulous and flawless! Love your singing. Will have to go onto other channels in youtube to see if I can find and hear you once again! Thanks for sharing your voice and hope your father is doing well. xoxo
Heard David sing last night at his restaurant on the Gold Coast DeVitos). Brought me to tears. Magic!
What a magnificent voice. I hope you win David, love to hear more of you in the future, I'm sure you are going to be a great success.
The strings in this is beautiful. David blends so well with his accompaniment, it's just amazing. This is the reason I love classical singing!!!!
This has been sung throughout all national talent shows , even in Portugal , but first time chills up my spine , best so far !!
he has me in tears everytime, i really hope he wins, if not for him but for his farhter!! what better last memory of your son then this, pure amazing,, he brings me to tars.. just amazing!!

God bless you..
I know this song has been a dozen times in this comp before, but you can really feel the emotion he's pouring out in this song!
Just like Adam Hynes, he is so good in his own genre, but rather overlooked and ignored by the media. He is one of the dark horses running to win this year AGT! All the best, David! GBU.
Best performance of Nessun Dorma i've ever heard.
Amazing!... your voice is just beautiful... David you been singing for a long time and just keep at it... you will make it! I would definitely buy your music and I know a lot of people that would! I believe David's performance would have melted Turandot's heart. Magnificent!

shivers all over... unbelievable, beautiful... so amazing
Bravo. Voce calda e molto potente. Complimenti. Mi sono emozionato. Grazie. Sergio. Milano
Australia really has Talent!!! It was a brave song choice, and he nailed it!!!!!!
He was at my SCHOOL tonight! Being a judge for our "Battle of the Bands" contest!!
Best school ever, Coomera Anglican College!
Amazing, you took the audience on a journey
Listen to this Paul Potts...THIS is how it's done. THIS is a LEGITIMATE voice.
He sings so wonderful it make my heart quiver.
I also am a big fan of David, where are you mate. we all want to hear you sing again.
That was just brilliant....i cried!!!
The strongest operatic contender this show has had, and the only one who has appeared that could actually make a career in opera outside of the show. Would be good to hear him without a mike.
Felicitaciones desde Colombia. Poderosa voz.

Bravissimo mi hai fatto commuovere....W l'Italia!!!!!

@jacktrika Did you look at the title for this video?
@infiniwatches Pavarotti had power to burn. And definition. Clear as a bell. I certainly can't sing like Mr. DeVito but he's no Pavarotti. I love Australia's got talent! Ours should change name to USAGT xD
I didn't like his original performances but this one really surprised me as a great rendition and he sang this beautifully in a unique way.
Isn't there any other song to sing? Heard this song like a milion times.. enougth already..
@infiniwatches Thanks so much for your comments.Pav was always my hero, next to my dad of course.No-one can sing as good as my dad.lol !
On the replay go to 3:07 - just to watch that last big note getting nailed!
@ThisIsThe123 Look around at the comments. Sure, this song is overused and cliche', but he nailed it and poured so much emotion into it.
@hansquad According to the man himself he deliberately included 'pop style inflections' which would explain why it doesn't sound operatic throughout to someone who listens to a lot of opera. What's the song called
I would like David to win or Majestic
@chekalore EXACTLY!!!
@bronzemen34 No David...freely cross musical genre because you have the voice and skill to sing ANYTHING.
His "o" in "Vincerò!" is no clear "o".
Sad he had to take it down a half-step, but that Bb was nice and clear.
@ericmarshall69 If you like Potts better, watch his videos instead! Bro, I saw him perform Nessun Dorma, and I've seen it performed on talent shows so many times I felt like crying to get it to stop, but David's version literally took my breath away. @luckyluuk123 Pavarotti made the song, your post is just purely stating the obvious.
All the Potts comparisons and any other farting in the wind others are doing, bottom line is the man can sing, and is world class. Doesn't matter what style of music you are into. If you cant appreciate good vocals then put back on the ipod with the spice girls on.

first...
i hate people who sing opera in talent
great but pavarotti was beter xD
I do hope he can lose some of the pop mannerisms in his classical singing however...
the diction not like any other tenor
He is good but he is not on the same level as Paul Potts! Definitly not.
