My daughter shoplifted, the police came to the store and then called me to say they had her and would drive her home. I told them to scare the crap out of her‼️ Shoplifting IS NOT accepted‼️
Gen X here, I grew up in the era of stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about. I sure as well would never have pulled a stunt like that, my eyes would still be rolling now. And I’m glad I grew up fearing the consequences, it made sure I followed the rules and stayed within boundaries and I’ve turned out alright
Bestie!!! I'm part of Gen X, the 'F' around, you didn't dare treat an adult let alone someone of authority. He most certainly wouldn't have made it. ❤❤❤❤
She shouldn’t have been allowed to purchase the stuff, Hot Topic should have pressed charges, if only to teach the little shit a lesson. If he’d been mine, well, he wouldn’t be like that for a start, but I’d have told the security guard to call the cops and charge him with shoplifting. I would never have gotten away with that attitude. Too many parents now don’t parent. They let everyone else do the parenting for them. Clearly the case here.
My mom would have let me go to jail and then make me find my own way home when I was released. I once threatened to call cps because what she was doing was considered abuse, she literally picked up the phone and started dialing while saying "I'll call them myself and then I will give them a reason to take you away before they get here."..... I dared not do bad things.
Today, absolutely entitled. I understand wanting to make things easier for the next generation but we haven't evolved enough to use those advantages to create a better future for everyone. Unfortunately, the ease of life creates laziness and weakness instead of progression.
Oh hell Nah! I would have march my pair down the police station myself or made my pair do a shift in their store to make up for it i wouldnt have left until they had finished too.
That's the problem with this generation they get everything they want just to psssigfy them. In the 90s at that age my mom would not let me get away with it.
Same. But the parents sided with the police or security guards (not just expecting an apology from their child). They usually paid for the items and then tried to work something out with the store or security so that consequences happened for stealing. The parent didn't usually give the child the items they had stolen. Every generation has had children who steal, its the way that parents handle it that is the problem. Maybe it's because I'm from a small town, but even the parents that were considered "bad parents" didn't just do nothing for consequences of stealing. Also, the children didn't usually think that they were going to get to keep the items they stole.
Too bad there isn’t a real Andy Griffith. Kid should have been locked in jail for a few hours. Perhaps with a cellmate who found his makeup attractive….lol.

Jeepers. She should have paid for them and gave them to a random kid as they left the store.
Yep, the problem is the parents

❤❤❤ AGREE with this SO MUCH!!
Let’s be clear - we KNOW why he’s like that.
My mom knew, and still knows, just about every police officer in my home county. I would have gotten my behind handed to me!!!

I am very afraid for our world...
Absolutely not! I'm gen x and this would NOT have happened in my time. Wouldn't let my kids get away with it either!

Baby boomer here, my mom would have killed me, I'd be grounded, and he'll would have frozen over before I got those items, ever

As a millennial, there were kids like this around me too.

YIKES. I would never have gotten away with that ish. Also, I am so happy to see your handsome face!!!
Wait, you have Jamba Juice in Austin 😮😊
My kids wouldn’t have gotten away with it. Nor would I have paid for the stuff.
Mate, my dad would have grabbed me by the ear and dragged me back in the store.
