    Hey LSV, at 42:50 I don't think you play scarlett or gut, I know it sucks, but being able to cast what you draw from the ravager is probably better than a 4 mana your opponent cant block considering they both get karakased. Looking at it afterwards you would have been able to drop DRC and carnage interpreter after combat.

    I think you're undervaluing the power of Soul Guide Lantern in these types of decks and I've watched far too many of your videos to see many of your aggro decks get curb stomped by a reanimated fatty. I aggressively hunt for it and have no problem first picking. It becomes even more valuable when you have Gut, Bomba or Legion Extruder.

    • @Funkytrip73
      @Funkytrip73 2 місяці тому +2

      Didnt understand not picking it up either. If you go for the mono red agro strategy, the entire cube is filled with gas anyway. Especially if you're the only one.

  • @wernerbeinhart2320
    @wernerbeinhart2320 2 місяці тому

    I'm only at the beginning of pack 3, but I disagree with the library pick. It's a very strong card, but it basically does the opposite of what your deck wants to do, which is curve out, dump your whole hand using all your mana and beating down, before opponent gets to high mana and outvalues you. Yes it is good with cheap interaction, but more in a control style deck imo. I'm happy to get shown otherwise in the play portion of the video

    • @alexanderdickens2517
      @alexanderdickens2517 2 місяці тому +2

      I think you're way to all-in on imagining the "stay at 7 forever" plan for Library. If it draws 2 while we play cheap cards and then we give up to start playing 3 and 4 drops, that's still pretty great.

    • @DiscardatRandom

      LOA is very matchup dependent - against slower decks it’s incredible, and in the right hand it can do good work. It’s also a risk to pass, and the opportunity cost of a colorless land is low. This isn’t the best library deck, but I think it’s unquestionably the right pick there.

      @@LSVargas It totally is, but it's also on plan. Similarly, playing Grim Lavamancer just to get in for a few damage or force a removal spell or proactive play from Sandy seemed like the obvious move to me. Think about all of the matches you've lost because your opponent played mediocre spells on curve and KOed you before you drew into your combo.
      Like, with respect, I know you're an all-timer and are gonna win pretty much every game that comes down to high level plays. But it really does feel, when you're drafting aggro and zoo decks, like you're held back by being ashamed of counting to 20 like the rest of us. :)

    • @finnpeterson4335
      @finnpeterson4335 2 місяці тому +10

      I think he kept that hand in no small part because of the person he was playing against. Sandy drafts Mono White or Boros a good 75% of the time, and against a creature deck, LSV's hand is actually super good. It very nearly got him there too. And mulliganing that hand against anyone is kinda aggressive anyways.

    • @christopherbarna7957
      @christopherbarna7957 2 місяці тому

      I agree the keep was loose. Your deck is stacked with good one drops that are just dead cards in that hand. Like after turn 3-4 it was pretty clear LSV was drawing dead.
      The main question is what are you hoping to draw to make that hand playable? Even had LSV drawn nonlands, the one drops and burn spells look way worse when you aren’t applying early pressure.

    I could be wrong. However, drafting your own cube so often and drafting it in a team environment may be negatively affecting your draft outcomes in the MTGO vintage cube.
    _Only_ drafting the MTGO cube would not be ideal, however drafting it more often than your own cube would be beneficial.

      It's weird but that doesn't quite work. The -x/-x to kill indestructible creatures only works when their toughness becomes 0. It doesn't matter if they've been dealt damage or not, they can't be destroyed by damage.

      @@mattwilliamsonguitar from my experience it does work it's not dying to damage. It takes five from lelia then effectively goes down to five toughness so dismember puts it to 0 killing it, I did something similar to a toski on arena once

      @@mattwilliamsonguitar Arena and MTGO clients show damage after combat differently. Arena visually lowers their toughness after combat damage, but as you'll see on MTGO, the toughness never goes down. On MTGO Ulamog will have a red -5 indicator, but it'll still be a 10/10 after combat. Using Dismember post combat will lower it to a 5/5 and Ulamog is still indestructible regardless of prior combat damage. However I'm only 99% certain of this, so I'd love anyone to correct me.
