And MASSIVE thanks to G66: www.g66.eu/en/
My man has tens of thousands of worth of amplifiers, but no air conditioner
That is correct 😅
Another cool ass piece of gear. I’m strictly a tube amp , cabinet guy . But I’ve learned a lot from your channel.
Big thanks to you Jon for directing me to Kyle Bull and Tone Wars for my Mesa Badlander issues . Ordered my Mr Scary Mod , that seems like it will answer my needs . Thanks again man im very excited. Rock on my brother 🤘🏻🤘🏻
The Fractal factory is about 20 minutes away from me here in New Hampshire; they're probably one of the things I'm most proud of about this state haha. Having said that, I'm a quad cortex user, but I'd really love to take a trip to the factory if they do tours... I should look into this!
@@AdamDallas I think it's all made in China nowadays
@@SonicDriveStudio According to Cliff (the CEO I think?) the chassis and 'some parts' of the board are made in China, but the DSP modules are still built in Plaistow, NH
love it, but the FM9 is way too big for me. (I want to use it with my real pedals on my board)
I wish Fractal would make a device that is the size of a FM3, but with at least 6-8 foot switches.
3 foot switch devices (ie, HX Stomp, GT1000 core, etc) are all WAY smaller than a FM3, so you would think Fractal could fit more than 3 switches on that device.
5:03 I could hear every fractal user screaming at their screen.
I did it on purpose!
I might be crazy, but I see it as free screen protectors😁
Really excited to hear what you come up with in the demo video. Side note I just put a patch bay on my studio desk so I dont have to keep digging in the back for cords. Also save the wear and tear on the expensive pieces. Would be a good upgrade for your setup. Love your channel! Cheers enjoy and stay cool!
Yeah, finally a Fractal FM device - to me still the best hardware ATM (being a FM3 owner myself). Looking forward for more videos, Jon! 😘🤘🏻
Already have the FM3 but the FM9 is obviously more powerful! Both are excellent
@@SonicDriveStudio I agree! 👍🏻Fortunately I don't need the extra DSP power and can enjoy the more compact size with the full Fractal modeling quality 🥰
@@MatthiasBuesing FM3 is pretty amazing too, agreed!
I just bought an FM9, too!!! Looking forward to your videos
Hey Jon, I have the FM9 newest generation too and now I am waiting for your videos about that wonderful device. At the moment I enjoy the Marshall Silver Jubilee (like Gary Holt does) and work around with that fantastic Dyna Cab packs…a never ending story! I enjoy your channel very much 🤘🏻
Um are you a billionaire
Grac!
I know this video is about the fx9. I own a Q.C. and honestly, I don't use it much. I take my syn2 with a power station, along with my pedal board, to all the live gigs i get if i am playing guitar, of course. I would like to own an FX3 someday. Fractal gear sounds great. I am really waiting for the ST rock ir2 review. I can not find one review on it, and if you say it's worth buying, I would take your word for it. You do a good job showing what gear can or can not do. At least, in my opinion.
Cool!!! Would love to have a go on one of these, looking forward to seeing your review of it.
Hope you’re well! 😎👍
Just sold my Fractal setup. Really been enjoying the Kemper lately.
no, the last missing piece is the Laney LFR 4x12
congrats Jon 🙌 I'm still really impressed with the FM3 I got 2 years back, use it daily and with the band / live gigs, killer unit
if you want any ideas/tricks with it, feel free to drop me a line
Welcome to the club! Even though I first joined your club ;-)
Haha who pushed you?
@@SonicDriveStudio I wonder
If you start selling presets for this unit, I’m buying!
Hi John! Could you please compare it to the FM3? I'm interested on buying Fractal stuff for live use, so portability is important to me.
What would be the real world advantages of the FM9 now that the FM3 has the gapless preset/channel switching and it has awesome footswitch customization options?
3:49 People say this to me all the time.
🤣
does the fm9 have a power amp built into it by any chance.
so you can go straight into a guitar cabinet :)
No
Duuuude! 🤯
I'd love a comparison between the Axe 3 and FM9! I've been thinking of downsizing from the Axe 3 to FM9 to save space. I never use the full power of the FM9. But curious what compromises there would be.
The problem with Fractal is that they're hard to find and buy, specially if you're not in west, even then. You can find a headrush, helix or boss anywhere in stock for example. It's a weird policy not to expand and meet the demand.
I know there are gobs of high (and way high) gain players out there, and you are for sure one of them… and that’s awesome!! I love my high gain stuff just the same!
However, I’d also like to see a video showcasing the authenticity of the straight up rock to hard rock modeled amp tones. Do they have that big amp punch and “clunk” on the attack… and harmonic depth?
I’m talking like, early Neil Geraldo (Pat Benetar)… even other classic stuff like UFO and Montrose. Hoping someone will hit on that stuff as well.
Always love your videos, shootouts and demos, brutha!!!
Go watch leon todds videos he gets killer rock tones
Millonario😂
Viel Spaß mit dem Teil 🤘❤️
When you upgraded did you sell the older model to a friend or did Fractal take it in trade? So how often do you use the option to use 2 different amps on the Ax-Fx III ?
I almost never use dual amps myself but I've done it sometimes for videos or to replicate a specific sound
How can a device with a user interface like that exist in 2024? I can't believe it's possible to push a button and move between blocks in 2024!
To me a touch screen on a FLOOR (!) modeler isn't senseful at all. Additionally most user will program the device via Mac or PC...
It’s really not that difficult to use. Read the manual, learn the device. It’s still the best out there, and I’ve owned and/or played them all.
Because it sounds the best among floor modellers, even without additional/external pedals..
1st ❤
You really took your thumbnail clickbait almost 2 minutes into the video? That’s next level. I like the channel but it’s nothing but an annoyance to viewers.
You can always fast forward and skip to the section you want to watch
@@SonicDriveStudio Sure did. Do as you will with the feedback.
