  • I tried to copy the Dior look Bella Hadid wore for their ad campaign - stay to the end where I show another version a few hours later, making it look a bit more smokey. Lots of detail work for this one!

I'm the Hooded Lid and am here to discover and share new applications and techniques as my face is changing with age. I review products with a focus on eye shadows that are crepey lid friendly, and I adore perfume and do reviews of new releases that are interesting to me, as well as videos grouping together genre and seasonal favorites.

Your edited version is gorgeous! This version looks very wearable for both day and night! The smokey blue brings out the green in your eyes! I love it! 🥰👍🌺🌺🌺

I wear my bold sparkly glittery eyeshadows every day, lol. I liked both of the ways you interpreted the look.

I loved both the dramatic and modified looks. I would call these looks and the one you did in the previous video with the same palette successes. I think our fear of using certain colors or saying they don't work on us is more about not knowing how to use it. It takes playing around with different looks and techniques. These particular two videos have taught me not be so quick to judge if something will work on me. Thanks!

Thank you so much Arianne! Maybe next I'd like to take on green! But...not for a while - lol

I love that this looks great when your eyes are opened AND closed (and with raised eyebrows). I feel like every time I do an eye look it looks good until I raise my brows. I’m going to try this technique! Also, this palette color story looks stunning on you!

Thanks so much, Erin. Let me know if any of these techniques work out for you!

Oh, how lovely! This is such a gorgeous look on you... and the top you’re wearing... perfection! I’m going to have to try this technique. I avoid winged out/dark eyeshadow just because of my hoods, but it looks so good on you! Once I used a small brush to do a graphic line just above my eyelid, avoiding the hood entirely. It was really fun!

And I love the smoky look at the end. It’s my favorite! I definitely think you could wear this look during the day. ❤️

I love that top! And the looks are both lovely! I struggle with blue eyeshadow as well and this is wonderful inspiration! I love watching your thought process and how you adjust your inspiration to fit your specific eyes. It’s very helpful!

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad it's helpful to you! I love this top as well - it's actually a short dress that I wear as a top and I adore it - a very lucky find a few years ago!

Wow! You look great in both versions. Agree the second look is softer and could be worn during the day. You have inspired me to try something new with the bold green colors I ordered from Sydney Grace. They are completely out of my comfort zone......but as you said, hooded eyes need some fun too!!!

Thank you! I enjoyed the video. I loved both looks but prefered the second one because it was more wearable. You are right, it is fun to do the effort even with our hooded eyes. You look great my friend. Thanks again 😊 loved it. Stay safe please 🌸

You did a great job with this look. I thought your descriptions were very precise and clear. I have hooded eyes and also struggle with the fold of skin on the outer corner of the lid, so your demo was especially helpful. I have the Dior 5 palette in Jungle (colors not as difficult as Denim) and have been playing with it recently. I purchased the Wayne Goss Eye Set in order to get small eye brushes. For me, small brushes make all the difference in getting the application I want for my hooded lids, especially because I do not have a lot of space between my eye and brow and need fairly precise placement of the shadow. Thanks for the video.

    • @TheHoodedLid

I totally agree, small brushes are so important for us hoodies!

I really appreciate & learned from seeing how you adjust your eyeshadow placement to accommodate your hooded lids. The first look was nicely dramatic & dressy (which I like!), but your modified look (later) looked great too. Thanks for the demo!!

Rephr 13 and 14 are nice and small for crease blending. I love the 12 as well for blending, very dense and round.

This is a beautiful application that you did here. I’ve been staying away from powder eyeshadows because after some time, the powder moved and it looks like a mess. Using primer make it more difficult to apply on hooded loose skin. What you did here is worth the effort for special occasions as I can see this may have taken some time to put on. 💋

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  3 роки тому +1

You might want to try the Make Up By Mario primer. It comes with a powder, and shadows don't "stick" to it. so you get an even application. I never understood the love for sticky primers - but maybe that's because my lids are hooded and crepey. Anyway - I do like the Mario.

@@TheHoodedLid I’m getting creepy eyes also. Sometimes they get super puffy and currently they look like bubble because I’ve been crying. My mother-in-law passed away. Menopause really changed my skin but I’m hanging in there. You do look like you are part of my family with your facial features and I do have hooded eyes. I will look into Mario products. I’ve been buying a lot of cream and liquid shadows recently. I’m glad I watched your video to take my mind off family issues. Fantastic eyeshadow application you did there!💋
