You make me feel ashamed. My license expired a couple months ago and i just can't afford to renew quite yet. Watching this gives me the buzz to get out there. Had a goal this year to explore more of shasta and whiskey town lakes for better bank fishing spots. Love the videos.
Always enjoy your videos. I am a local and a kayak fisherman when I have the opportunities to go out. Have you tried Trinity Lake or Black Butte in the spring? Also great fishing lakes during the spring!
They have a variety of food in Shasta! The lake is full of shad, crawfish, trout, salmon, bass, blue gill, crappie, gobies, and sunfish. Mostly though, they feed on shad and crawdads I believe👍
If you don't mind asking could you give me a approximate area info I have a small boy an a kayack and I've bin trying to find accessible coves short distance from a launch. If possible maybe a pm I don't want to kill the spot
Jones valley is perfect for kayaks, there’s plenty of coves and it’s usually not as windy as Centimudi. I’ve spent many trips staying around the launch there and done well by kayak👍
The smallmouth at that lake look so weird. I caught 2.5lb but it didn't look like any smallmouth I ever caught before. I suspect like your subtitle said could be hybrid? I don't know though.

Oh yeah he always catches too, but he doesn’t wear a camera and that would be too difficult to show every fish he catches too. Every once in a while you’ll see him get one in my vids, especially if it’s good fish

I haven’t, but I’ve always wanted to go to Trinity lake. I’ve seen some nice fish caught out of there!

I’ve been having luck on a lot of natural colors. I don’t know the name of the worm exactly, but it’s more of a brown shade

Yes all the smallies I catch there always look different lol. I always think they must be a hybrid, but more so on the small mouth side

That 1st bass is a spotted bass
Definitely not a pure spotted bass, like I said, it’s a mix. Smallies in there seem to be hybrids most the time. Always look different.
