    I think it's pretty, great job, yeah you will have to not go in too far in the middle w the white dots. it worked out when Julie didn't go in as far with the white dots.

      Thank you! ♥️ I’ve done another piece tonight with some small tweaks to account for using a different resin, so hopefully I can get to the point where the spot goes away completely 😊🤞🏼

    So pretty. Might want to put dots closer to the center. I like the inner petals. Gives it a more dimensional look.

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому

      I only didn’t because when I put the dots closer into the center I ended up with an even whiter circle in the middle.

    Persistence is key! Well done for sticking with it. This is very pretty. Did you enjoy working with the resinpro epoxy?

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much! ♥️ I really do like using the ArtPro, I definitely need more practice though. 😊 It was very unique using a 3:2 ratio, and I could really feel the difference in the viscosity.

  • @rebeccaharden6018
    @rebeccaharden6018 Рік тому

    I like the 2 to 1 the best. What colors did you use? I love them

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому

      I think I prefer the 2:1 too, but the 3:2 has its upsides. It is much more viscous and cures faster for one. I think there is a use for both, the ArtPro is just a little pricey for every day for me. As far as the colors go, I used Liquitex acrylic ink, in Quinacridone magenta, phthalocyanine green, and Prussian blue. ☺️ Thank you! ♥️

  • @TAiiNE
    @TAiiNE Рік тому +1

    Pinks and purples going muddy is normal. Alcohol and acrylic inks are actually NOT designed for resin, there made for paper. As the resin heats up during the curing, it's burning the pigment used in these inks, turning them that muddy color like you expressed with the pinks and purples. Some blues will also lose some of their pigment, turning an almost ugly yellow if they keep pigment at all. I would look into moving on to resin dyes, they work a lot better and can hold up to the heat of the curing. Just be mindful some brands especially on amazon will label alcohol inks as dyes. Plus the dyes are far cheaper.

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for that information, I appreciate it! It’s mainly alcohol inks that I’ve had issues with doing that, but it’s made me extra cautious when I’m doing multi colors or working with pink/purple. It’s good to have a reason as to why that’s happening. I appreciate it. 🙂

    I don't have a live edge mold so how deep of a mold do I need to do the larimar and fairy light effect? I have asked many demonstrators on utube and no one answers this questions. Many people have asked and they are not getting responses either. Why can't or won't answer this questions?

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому

      I’m not sure if I know the correct answer to that, but I will say that the live edge mold is about 1/4 of an inch deep, so I would try to find a mold that deep to start. I don’t know if the slope of the live edge makes a difference or not, but the videos I have watched have recommended a live edge. I have not seen anyone do these techniques on anything but a live edge mold. I’m sorry I don’t have better answers for that question.

    Does the resin have to be a 3-2 or can this be done with 2-1? Cheers

    • @sunfiredesigns
      @sunfiredesigns  Рік тому +1

      It works best with a 3:2 resin. I have been unable to get it to work well when using a 2:1, and I am unaware of anyone getting it to work with a 1:1. I only just today was able to get it to work the way it’s intended to, and that video will be up this week. The resin I’m using for these is ArtPro.

    • @robandhisresin13
      @robandhisresin13 Рік тому

      @@sunfiredesigns thanks for that. Much appreciate your reply. Just had another attempt, still with the 2:1 and no luck so will get some 3:2 resin.
