The new car price is 39.000€. The size of the Alfa Romeo Tonale is 4,5m in length and includes a width of 1,8m, which has the ideal vehicle size This can be compared to a BMW X1 or a Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale Speciale is powered by a 1.5l straight 4-cylinder Turbo petrol engine and delivers 131 HP & 240Nm of torque. The Alfa Romeo Tonale also has an extra electric motor that delivers 20 hp and 55 Nm of torque. 130 hp are perfect for the daily driver, because they are comfortable and consume not much, nevertheless they accelerate very well.
The Tonale has a 7-Speed automatic TCT gearbox and is not the sportiest as you would like because it shifts way to early and the reaction time when you hit a paddle on your steering wheel is so slow, but the good thing of the gearbox is that when you drive on NORMAL MODE that you don’t even feel the gear change. But we have to say that it is not a dual clutch transmission as in other sports cars and for this reason the small faults are forgivable. It is powered by a front-wheel-drive System.
Let's take a look at the Alfa Romeo Tonale Speciale fuel consumption. According to factory specifications, the manufacturers promise that the combined fuel consumption is 5,7l. For a 1.5l engine with 131hp this is a pretty well consumption. But the driving style plays a big role, because if you drive sporty you can never keep the prescribed manufacturer consumption. On the other hand, if you drive very economically, you can even get below the factory specification. Further information is that the tank volume includes 55 liters. 1525Kg are ideal for Alfa Romeo Tonale 2022. A light weight ensures that a car consumes less. The light weight is especially noticeable in the acceleration and let the 130HP act even faster.
According to the factory, the Alfa Romeo tonale accelerates from 0-100 in 9.6 seconds, which is very impressive for 130hp. From our own experience we can confirm that the acceleration feels much faster.
The top speed of the Alfa Romeo Tonale are 200km/h. But we are really disappointed of the top speed, because we didn’t reach the 200km/h and we had a lot of space to reach them because the autobahn was empty. In addition, our highway is going downhill. We are not sure if the car is limited. The wind noise at higher speeds is comfortable. The Alfa Romeo Tonale Speciale sound from the exhaust is not that interesting.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale´s suspension is very impressive. The suspension can be changed in the different driving modes. In sport mode it is hard and stiffer and you have more feeling for the road and bumps, the car starts to bounce a little. In comfort mode, the suspension changes to soft, so you don't feel as much of the road. The handling in curves is perfect, because you can drive even at high speeds in sharp curves without understeering or oversteering. However, the cornering position is also dependent on the weight. The steering is very accurate and direct, so you do not have to steer much. Even when braking down hard from high speeds, the car behaves quietly.
In our opinion the 2022 Alfa Romeo Tonale Speciale is one of the best looking modern SUVs with a also modern interior which was ever built. What do you say?

I have Giulietta with 1.4 motor and it seems similar on acceleration and handling behavior. I believe Tonale belongs to the same old school as Alfa Romeo inspite of its weak SUV image. This car will repeat the fate of Giulietta and will be underrated on the market.

this car, like ALL SUV's looks very boring. Hopefully Alfa will sell enough of them to be able to fund the development of a true Alfa sports car, both a coupe and sedan with around 300-350 hp, sexy sporty looks, and some real performance.
So the Tonale has 0-100 acceleration of 9.6 seconds. The same as the basic Giulietta it practically replaces which is basically a 2010 car and costed new 40% less than the Tonale. I would rather get a used Giulia RWD and 6 seconds 0-100 sounds much more like drivers car. That being said the Tonale is probably nicer to drive than the rest of the SUV and crossover mistakes of cars on the market and better looking as well.
Every Alfa is a good option! The tonale is only the basic model with 130HP. There will be 2 more models like the tonale with 160HP and the tonale hybrid version with 275HP. And hopefully a QV version will follow. The looks will change a bit, the driving dynamics and acceleration and top speed.
The PHEV does 0-100 in 6 seconds flat (with 4WD).
My 35 year old Alfa 75 2.0TS can reach 220KPH. Is this progress.

Unfortunately yes... but there are still a few tonale models to come like the tonale with 160hp or the tonal Veloce with 275hp and hopefully a tonale qv will follow
poor car…. so little power for such a high weight…. 100/150 in 17s and 150/170 in 15s….. a minimum of 150/160hp was needed 😅😅
