Thank the author of the channel for making this beautiful and useful video for us! Many people are embarrassed to speak a foreign language if they have no speaking skills. People are afraid to hear criticism from others in their address. It all comes from having a psychological complex - to make a mistake. But, after all, he who does nothing is not wrong! In Yuriy Ivantsiv's workshop "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language" states that we need to talk as much as possible: with yourself, with the mirror, with inanimate objects, with children and with pets. Find an interlocutor in real life or online. Talk without shyness. People won't care how you speak. They understand that you are a foreigner, as long as they understand you. They may even acknowledge your progress in their language and compliment you. However, always be prepared for criticism of your speaking skills. If you have the will to speak, you will gain an interesting interlocutor to consolidate your knowledge. Everyone is strewn with mistakes - don't be afraid to learn from them. As the Latin wisdom says, "walk and thou shalt not go astray". In the book "Polyglot Notes" by YuriyIvantsiv an entire chapter is devoted to the development of spoken language. Here you will find many useful tips and each student can choose a technique that suits him or her best! I wish you all the best of luck in your language learning!

Konnichiwa, Sheka sensei. Watching your video, I can't help but say a little here about my own self-learning of Nihonggo, albeit in a rather strange way. In my case, I have some prior Kanji knowledge, because the characters are based on the Chinese writing script, and that is my exposure being a Chinese myself way back when I was a kid. Right now, its like I''m learning Nihonggo from the difficult level going down, though I wasn''t able to speak it the way the Japanese speak, but how the Chinese speak it in their native language. That's why I was able to understand some Japanese scripts in the mixed writing setup. But through word association and spaced repetition, I was able to know some hiragana and katakana. What I'm more interested to learn more is the phonetic side of Nihonggo, and hiragana would be it. I guess with your short courses here and a little help from other native speaking Japanese, I would be able to at least grasp the conversational Japanese as I watch Japanese terebi a lot. Domo arigato as usual for your tips.

Ahhh god. I’ve been trying to study Japanese since sophomore year of high school - I’m a freshman in college now. Since the school I’m at offers Japanese as a class, I decided I’d take it all semesters. the entire time I’m here - might as well, since govt be stealing my soul.

Studying 3-4 hours twice a week isn't working for me at all. I enrolled in a japanese language class and I only attend classes 2 times a week because I have work. Most of the time I forgot what I studied since I'm preoccupied with work most of the time so I had a harder time when I reached module 3. I'm planning to study again soon but this time I'll try it on my own so I can learn at my own pace, I'll try the space repetition method too and hopefully that will work for me and then maybe next year I can try to take again JLPT N5.

I do self-study because I teach Japanese, but it is so difficult especially that you don't have anyone to practice with in speaking. May I ask the name of the school and details on how to apply for it? I just want to improve my learning so I can teach well. I'm 51 years old by the way but still hoping to get scholarship in learning Nihongo language. Thanks so much to all your informative videos.
