I absolutely love this one, Charlie -so light and airy with fabulous depth. Thanks for sharing. Incidentallt I was quite gobsmacked to hear you say that someone said they couldn't see the mixes taking shape. Obviously not paying attentiom; the mixes are perfectly clear because your four main mixing areas for yellows greens browns and blues are always clear (except where youve worn off the enamel!) Credit to Gail on her videography, too because we can always see how thick or thin each wash is GRRR rant over.😃
I'm from Australia and I have just bought 3 of your books ' as I find them very helpful when painting in acrylics. But in a water colour style on paper of course. It's giving me great confidence in painting skies and buildings , plus filling in large areas of landscape. So thanks for your fantastic videos which are a joy to follow.
Thanktou for sharing your wealrh of experience to me. I am just getting back into watercolours after over 20years away, nor after a lifechanging accident i have picked up your brushes to try once more. I live how you do your skies and landscape. As i live in Scotland i have the scenery all around me. And i now practice your methods. So thank you..
Oh, these lessons of yours are always such a big help to me. Thank you so much. Great camera work by the way! I’m always seeing just what I am needing to see, as though I had the camera in my own hand. Thank you She Who Must Be Obeyed!
Excellent insights and practical tips as always. I recently bought your Pocket Book for Watercolour Artists. It´s a superb book, I only wish I had bought it 4 years ago when I first started painting. It would have saved me time and money down the rabbit-hole of brushes, paints, paper etc. My intension is to make use of all that I have acquired in watercolour art materials and start spending more time painting with it all. These videos will help me get into it more, thank you Charles Evans.
I saw a video of you posted 9 years ago and decided to check your channel. I'm so happy that you are still painting and uploading the process on UA-cam : )
Hi, from the U.S. I'm a colorist and came across your channel when searching for how to create clouds for backgrounds in coloring books. The way you created yours resonates with me and put the capital D in "Duh" lol. New subscriber here, thanks😃.
You are so hilarious and entertaining. Hang in there. I am as old as you are and you really give me I can’t get every day. Don’t die on me just keep going forever and ever and ever. Love you love your heart.
Another good one, Charlie. It looks good all along then when you add the great shadowing, excellent! Hope to see more soon. Oh, your camera operator does a find job as well!!
Thank you for a lovely tutorial, again. I try your tutorials out, most of the time. I eagerly wait for new videos, but they are not that frequent. I understand you have other engagements to take care of. Thank you for all that you do.
thank you so much for your dedication, the time you invested in free videos foe those, like me, without financial posibilities for online classes, you are so generous. Sorry for my poor english.
Thank you for a really great video. I paint a lot of florals, but you make me want to try this type of landscape. Just curious...why does your pallette have the black ovals? Do they serve a purpose? Forgive me if you've addressed this before.
Charlie, is there any chance you will be presenting in the mid-Atlantic region of the US anytime soon? I have made notice of the help for heroes' band on your wrist. In addition to your service to the art community, thank you for your RAF service to your country.
Hi Charles. Love watching your tutorials. Always inspiring and just as entertaining. Sadly my painting days are few, I'm losing my sight. Just a little note, the audio seems to distort heavily when you speak boldly, or stronger, if you like. Not griping, just info. Oh, and pencils scratching is fine with people that still have tolerance, and choose not to moan about the insignificant. Say "hi" to Gayle for me. She always makes you look great. TTFN
Currently have just subscribed to your painting tutorials, I am in the process of following, painting the countryside in watercolour, & having a go myself! I love your easy style & detailed explanations. Thankyou, will be tuning in for many more.
Merci Mr Evans. Love Northumberland and your paintings... It' s Always a great pleasure to follow your tutos. Thanks a lot

Taking the tapes off - Wow! Why does that make so much difference?
It certainly does though.
Pocket book and Watercolour Rescue are, in my opinion, the best two watercolour books on the market. Another very helpful video thank you

If you want to continue using your 'grass, sorry, grar-ss' joke, please remember that it is not 'put on my glasses', but 'glar-sses'.
That’s just too posh!!
thank you so much for your dedication, the time you invested in free videos foe those, like me, without financial posibilities for online classes, you are so generous. Sorry for my poor english.
You are so welcome. And your English is good.
Thank you for a really great video. I paint a lot of florals, but you make me want to try this type of landscape. Just curious...why does your pallette have the black ovals? Do they serve a purpose? Forgive me if you've addressed this before.
Sorry, I don’t understand the black ovals! You probably mean where the enamel has been worn away in the mixing areas!
@@charlesevans7706 yes, that is the spot I was seeing. I thought it was deliberate. Thank you!
Very nice Charles. Would you say your style is traditional?

I would love to, but that kind of thing would need a lot of organising.
Charlie, great as usual ! many thanks, is it possible to know what type and size paper you use...thanks in advance, youre an inspiration !
That is a half sheet of Langton Rough. I think I said all that at the end.
many thanks Charlie
As entertaining as ever and the painting is good as well ❤
Ahahaha, thank you.
I absolutely love your tutorials, Thank you. Are you able to give us more tutorials in acrylics?
